But they do confirm but the online store will not be region locked (having already said the carts themselves aren't)

We'll be back to the good old days (in some cases) of playing games with Japanese text and trying to work out what the hell is going on

Lol. The heady days of playing Sakura Wars and Rent-A-Hero on Dreamcast with only about 10% understanding of what was happening and even less knowledge of knowing what to do!

Halo was quite a marvel at the time, and if I had to put it in my All Time Favourites chart it'd probably end up higher than SM64. But the latter aged much better - I wouldn't mind playing SM64 today while going back to Halo would no doubt feel pretty rough.

Played through Halo again recently, albeit the HD remaster. Still up there.

Great question and one that made me realise I wear rose-tinted glasses because I was going to say Dreamcast! For some reason I had convinced myself it launched with Virtua Fighter, Sega Rally, Powerstone and Soul Calibur. If only...

I paid £550 for a launch JP DC with Sonic and Sega Rally 2. At the time I thought it was money well spent

Spoke to a nice woman on Amazon Chat support and got the £10 voucher applied to the Switch as well :)

Edit - Reading the small print it's one per customer, so not sure that should have worked as I'd used it on games..still nice of her

That wasn't even launch. Sonic came a couple weeks later and Sega Rally after that.

I paid £500 odd for a day one DC with Virtua Fighter. It had no RGB for about 6 weeks because cables were not available. It looked muddy as hell! What a stupid purchase at the time! At least a bit later it had a few games!

I paid a fortune for the JPN DC on launch too. But it didn't come with either because of delays. In the end I got Virtua Fighter and I can't remember what else!

Oh, yes I can. In desperation I bought Godzilla. I bet it cost me £70 too...

Don't worry, its very common for people to block out or change past traumatic experiences

Ha Ha I actually loved it at the time.

Back on topic. My other half had a right kick off about how much video game stuff I have in the living room and dining room last night.

She doesn't even know I've ordered a Switch. I think this weekend I may have to have a bit of a tidy and relegate some consoles to the bedroom.

 I rounded that up as well.

I remember my poor mammy paying £49.99 in fenwicks for mario bros 2 for my birthday. Nothing much has changed.

I love puyo puyo and tetris but 25/35 quids a bit feckin' steep, isn't it? Am I being unreasonable?

It was about £40 to import the JPN Xbox One version, so that wasn't cheap either, plus.... it is rather awesome :)

I did that with Dark Souls 3 a few months ago :)

Ahaha. Halo?

I'm not the biggest Halo fan, bu CE made FPS games properly viable on consoles thanks to twin stick controls. Loads of massive console franchises (COD, Battlefield, Destiny) only exist because Halo did that.

You can, you just have to spend £70 on the Neon Joycons.

Yeah I know, but I'm not getting another pair of joycons.  I've got a Pro controller coming now instead

And I've got a grey console coming anyway, because I wanted the left and right to be the same colour. So it's doubly not going to happen.

How many pounds and pence of excellent?

Think I paid about 25 excellent pounds and its excellence was definitely worth that.  Probably depends on whether you have someone to play against, as for me, it's primarily a multi-player game.

That's exactly like myself, grey console + pro controller. I did order the Neon Joycons but then had a rethink and cancelled.
