There is a code to get £10 off the when you spend £50 at amazon - bigthanks.

I used it for MK8 deluxe and Zelda. With prime discount works out just over £80.

That's a handy deal, I'm going to cancel my Zelda and re-order it along with 1-2 Switch. £25 is a fair enough price for 1-2 Switch I think.

That's what I just did. Cheers!

I have Prime so I get both for £71.

Now, I just have to decide which Switch to get. Grey or Neon? (I have both preordered..)

1-2 Switch pre-order cancelled, and MK8D and 1-2 Switch pre-orderd with voucher for £66.

I wasn't unhappy with 1-2 at 33 quid, but was bulking at the thought of 45 for MK8 which I've already played a lot of, but £33 each seems palatable.

Now I'm well and truly sucked in and literally throwing money at Nintendo for old rope.

Also considering an Arms pre-order on my own amazon account (the prime one is my wifes..)  *sigh*

Oh, and I pre-ordered grey console wise as I thought the neon one looked stupid.  I then watched a video of one being used, and thought about them being used separately in 2 player games, and regretted my choice, but I'm not cancelling my fairly early Amazon pre-order..!

When was the last time a console launched with a game that had the potential to be the best game ever? N64?

I'd say it was the N64.

I guess it depends on what level of potential you mean.  For me, if the Xbox launched with online multiplayer inclusive Halo, it might have been a different story.  I was late to the Xbox though, so perhaps missed it's importance in time..

I'd exclude the Wii (Twilight Princess) on the basis that it also launched on the Gamecube, and, perhaps was even a better version.

I'd exclude the Switch for the same reason, though I appreciate Twilight is no Breath of the Wild...

The NSMB series always had the potential to turn into the best 2D Mario platformer and the best 2D platformer ever made. So yeah, if 2D platformers are your favourite genre, then Wii U was the last console to potentially launch with the best game ever according to you.

And Nintendo delivered.

Kotaku Q&A

Which mostly boils down to... We have nothing to announce at this time.

It just shows what a rush job this launch is. They fact that they haven't got video streaming day one but plan to add it is pretty damning.

And they clearly haven't got a clue what they're doing with the VC.

Great question and one that made me realise I wear rose-tinted glasses because I was going to say Dreamcast! For some reason I had convinced myself it launched with Virtua Fighter, Sega Rally, Powerstone and Soul Calibur. If only...

But they do confirm that the online store will not be region locked (having already said the carts themselves aren't)

We'll be back to the good old days (in some cases) of playing games with Japanese text and trying to work out what the hell is going on
