Did you see the grin on Reggie's face when he said about Monster Hunter!?

Ok, I've watched it now. Hmm. It wasn't a 'haha we have that but I can't say anything' grin so much as it was a 'oh, interesting choice' grin. BUT! ProJared is well known for his love of monster hunter, and it was quite a leading question, so...

Argh!

:omg:

I was all set to come in here and point and laugh at how many of you are blowing upwards of £300 just for a Switch lacking launch titles other than the new Zelda game, then I remembered I spent over £400 on a device to put on my head just to play Rez all over again with.

And I've done both (while simultaneously buying Rez a 4th and 5th time)!

I am good at adulting.

I find it odd that people actually praise the lack of media features while it would fit the system perfectly with its instant docking to TV/remove for portable functionality.

And it has a remote:

@Freeman it's technically less than the comparable, 32Gb Wii U, which was £300 at launch.

Thanks,  I missed out on the initial pre-orders for Wii U going live, and bought from Amazon.fr, so there is a chance that the numbers in my head are in Euros :)

I guess points on pricing are a bit moot given that the larger retailers have sold out of pre-orders already.

The official Nintendo Store? ;)

Sold out of neon, but still have grey up for pre-order.

As a non-regular on rllmuk, I can't tell if this is an in joke or not...

Is Netflix on a console important enough to be a deal breaker?

I see it as a slightly more important feature than backwards compatibility - something that folk talk about as indispensable, then never use.

In the same way that I don't buy a new console to play the games I played on my old console, I prefer the easy, convenience, and throwaway price of something like an Amazon firestick for streaming stuff.  I run a Plex media server at home for my music.  I stream to my work laptop, and my mobile, and cast to my chromecasts around the house. I installed the app on my ps4 as I was doing something else i my games room (wrapping Christmas gifts for my wife) but felt it was a bit overkill to have an expensive console turned on just to stream music.  I guess the reliability of the Xbox 360 perhaps made me like this.  I didn't even use it for DVDs incase it decided to RROD.. ;)

Sorry, I know someone already rudely responded here but that seems like a lot of bullshit if you're not very technically adept or you're lazy or poor. I have a lot of things I would rather spend money on than servers, and a lot of things I'd rather spend my time doing than setting up servers. When I'm using my PS4 I just drop out of games and into Netflix all the time. I don't think I've switched the HDMI input for anything outside of the Wii U in about a year, because the second my PS4 could provide everything I started using it for everything, saving myself the hassle of changing devices and controllers. That's why devices are trying to get apps for services everyone has, because they want to compete to be people's primary media device. Nintendo not bothering just makes them look out of touch to general consumers, and I think here my "I can't be arsed, I'll just do it all here" is a lot closer to the general public than your "I'll use my personal knowledge and maybe a bit of research to set up a complex, bespoke system of wireless receivers that perfectly match my needs". I'm not suggesting that your way isn't better, just that it's going to be a lot more complex and expensive, and Nintendo could really do with selling this device to some normal people.

That video is just a giant fucking advert. It's surreal.

This is why the big publishers love YouTube. When you're negotiating with a minimum wage fanboy you're at a pretty powerful advantage, so you can easily lock down a restrictive "interview".

I always used used to find Nintendo's incompetence kind of charming, but somehow this time they're just looking like arrogant cunts. I can't believe Reggie can say that shit with a straight face.

well i ordered Zelda as well from amazon and paid the extra £5 to guarantee 3rd march delivery.

I'd ask amazon to combine the orders, considering i paid basically extra for the switch and game but i expect amazon well then shift my pre order to the end of the queue or something.

Not really, once those who are prone to buying new tech and the Nintendo faithful have got their launch machines I can't see where the market for selling this to is.

The console is too expensive, and the accessories and games are ridiculously expensive.  The mass market isn't going to buy into the Switch at that price. Unless they drop the prices after the launch period then the Switch is going to go the way of the WiiU.

When Super Bomberman R for Nintendo Switch was announced last week, online shops listed it for £59.99.

Like most things Nintendo Switch related, the £60 price for the family party game seemed ridiculously expensive.

But Konami has cut the price by a tenner, the company said in a note to press today, which means Super Bomberman R for Nintendo Switch will retail for the slightly more palatable but still expensive £49.99.

Online shops currently carry the £59.99 price for the game, but Konami said they'll alter their pricing shortly.

Thanks Konami! Only £50 for a bomberman game what a steal.
