My experience of it being demoed yesterday was one of bemused looks from people. I can totally appreciate that some people there might have really enjoyed it, but I didn't get that impression from my view. It should probably be pointed out too that I'd presume 100% of the attendees were Nintendo fanboys/girls.

Even the treehouse guys only looked like they were on level 6/10 enjoyment. And they enhanced the game by introducing eating forfeits inside question blocks.

My guess is people will end up doing shit like that to make it a bit more fun.

Doubt I'll be buying it though.

The battery life is bad, that's not getting enough play here.

Nintendo themselves advertised it as something you might take on a plane. Well, you'll only be playing it for 3 hours with the fancy games, so its not going to last a long flight.

Fucking hell, not this again.

All modern planes have powered USB sockets.

Some others have mains outlets.

Anyone without at least a 10k mAh power bank is a thick cunt just asking for it.

Not since the days of the GBA SP have I ran out of rechargeable battery. I can't remember the last time any of my gaming devices dipped beneath 50%. I just did a 20hr stretch into what's mostly a third-world country and arrived at my destination with everything on 100%.

The app is a totally bollocks idea. I don't want to be distracted by phone notifications whilst I'm playing video games with my mates.

What happens when a call comes in? Surely it will override the app.

I'm trying to work out if this is some wider strategy, if there is some sounder logic to this terrible idea. Maybe someone deleted their VO/IP software library and had to bungle it into an app at short notice. I don't mind the idea of an app to go alongside it but as the only option? Ridiculous.

Well, to be fair, in Nintendo's promo video he's playing it on a plane with the stand out. When you have the console set up like that you can't actually plug a charger in.

Oh dear, this game is ripe for gifs. Nicked from gaf.

I love that the game keeps telling people to look away at the screen and focus on the controller. If it wasn't Nintendo I'd guarantee that the image on-screen would change to wanking half-way through.

Right but if the company is making record profits in general, then their business model is working. I've been a long time subscriber to the Observer too. I'm sure either Meltzer or Alvarez tweeted a graphic showing the upswing recently. The Network cost a lot to set up but it was an investment in the future.

Here's the quote, that I'm referring to:

Quote

The fall was based on a decline in the media division, as basically the increase in network subscribers in quarter three didn’t make up for the loss in PPV revenue and people started to take notice.

WWE is making record profits in spite of the Network, not because of it. To come back to the original point, Nintendo could look at that and see that a Netflix-style VC isn't necessarily a win-win. Any subscription revenue needs to make up for the loss of individual VC game sales.

Just put your phone on airplane mode with the wifi on, relax.

It's a crappy compromise and one that, I believe, wouldn't stop WhatsApp or FaceTime calls.

DND is the obvious choice but it's still rubbish. I still want to see calls come in and take them if I need to. But that's by the by, using a separate device to access functionality on a device that is supposed to be uber flexible.

Nearly a year before that comes out. Probably going to be playable at E3.

I reckon we're going to be hearing a lot about E3 now. Mostly as a way to encourage hope amongst fans for some sort of Nintendo slam dunk (again!). Why anyone would think that their E3 is going to be better is beyond me now. If Nintendo can't pull themselves together for a standalone mid Jan launch video with no external media noise, why do people think they'll be able to do it at the bohemoth that is E3? Wishful thinking.

Go fuck yourself Stanley.

You break down a positive post I made and quoted one little bit of it to try and start an argument. It's what you do. Now you resort to plain insults when you don't get what you want. You're nothing but a self important prissy troll.

The UK limited edition looks OK actually. The US has two versions - one with a statue and one without. The UK version is cheaper (£89.99 vs $129.99), includes the statue, and only misses out on a map and a carry case as far as I can tell.

Worth getting I'd say. I bought the Skyward Sword LE on release for £50, and sold it on eBay last year for £50. When you've rinsed it and the download is on the Nintendo Select range for 15 quid, you can sell this one and get your money back.

Say you're not in work as you called in 'sick' there you are playing some splatoon 2 and having top bants with your mates, if work call in there is no worry of cross talk between game comms and work - as long as nintendo network has show me as offline you're golden ;)

Why are people pre-ordering the games so early? Surely it would make more sense to wait nearer to launch to see if the price drops for them, I can't see there being any issues getting a copy closer to release.

Amazon price guarantee innit

I've pre-ordered:

- Switch (grey)

- Joy Cons (red/blue)

- Breath of the Wild: Limited Edition

- ARMS

- Mario Kart 8: Deluxe

The lounge in the front of our house has no TV, and I used to love putting my Wii U in there and lying on the sofa, playing it on the gamepad. I got fed up with moving it back and forth though. Can't wait to play this wherever, and to have some decent local multiplayer (£70 extra and you have 4 player local multiplayer).
