I'm mystified that the same people who moan about waggle, jizz all over the shop about VR that practically does the same thing with the controllers.

My favourite VR games don't use waggle at all, so I'm not really sure where you're coming from? The only games of the PSVR lineup I played with Move controllers are Batman VR and a few lightgun games. The rest uses the normal controller.

A billion times this. Waggle, but with added headset that makes you look like a twat!

GOTY LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE etc

Also, in before "Yeah but have you tried it?"

No, quite the opposite in fact. Reggie has said that they know people have invested and that they should stay tuned for more details. He basically confirmed that something is coming for those with existing VC purchases, but that we'll have to hold on for a bit until we get the details.

If that's the case it might be back on my radar. I'd love to play virtual console purchases on the Switch as sadly my eyes are becoming a bit shit.

Anybody who played Area X of Rez in VR just shrugs.

yep big shrug here I don't use waggle with VR at all ... I don't have Move with my PSVR setup.

and Bojangle we don't play games to look cool , we look like twats no matter what game and system we are playing. That is the one universal truth gaming is not cool and you look like a twat when you play whether it is FIFA with your mates and beers and bants or whether it is wanking a wiimote or playing a serious game of CoD with your clan or siotting with a zonking great headset on

Oh man, our WiiU just flashed up with a Switch advert/trailers. Yeah, looks fucking brilliant.

Hype train was spluttering a bit there but I think, with a lot if love and if we're pure of heart, we can get it back up to full speed for the March launch of this paradigm shifting gaming fucking phenomenon.

All aboard!!

I was wondering how long it'd take for you to get back into the driver seat of our hype train, here.

Let's hope it doesn't turn into a bum train.

Back of the bum train feels no pain.

I hope I end up with a neon one.

So what about their shit voice comms service? No one has used voice chat constructively in console gaming since 2005.

Could the voice chat stuff be being offloaded to a separate device because of the relatively weak spec of the Switch? Otherwise I can't see any reason for such an odd implementation..

I can't see it being anything to do with the specs. Even the original fucking Xbox had voice chat!

The only reason I can think of at the moment is what I personally consider the obvious one: Nintendo still doesn't "get" it when it comes to online gaming. Or, indeed, the Internet in general.

I think, for me, I don't think there's going to be two better games this year than Zelda and Mario. I can afford the new console, so I'll be damned if I'm going to miss out on them.

Oh but you have to use your phone for voice chat grumble grumble.

Yeah, or maybe they aren't really interested in doing voice chat. I voice chat with my brother and my mate. And have done occasionally with people from here, but most of my online gaming life is just playing, not talking. I will not miss it at all (never missed it on Wii/Wii U/DS nor 3DS) and if they want to do it through an app, I couldn't care less.

Now online not being available AT ALL at launch. That's definitely a WTF moment.

Look, their online service could be just 50p a month for all we know, but announcing a chargeable service which sounds inferior to the competition, and not announcing the price of that service to give it context, was clearly a huge mistake. It's just begging for unfair comparisons to PSN/XBLA.

Doesn't it strike people as odd that there's still so much unanswered about this device so close to its launch? All these guessing games about the OS, the services, the third parties etc?

It's very very odd. Tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be another 3DS launch. I'm really worried Nintendo have totally dropped the ball here.
