OK - so it turns out I've won a ticket to go and play Switch early via that Nintendo raffle thing :wub: Except, as I said, I'm not even in the country on the dates available :angry:

Would anyone on here, fancy taking my place - presume you would have to say you were me for the day etc

Drop me a PM if you do - Shrew need not apply, I don't want to spoil it for everyone else there that day as well :lol:

These are both gone now folks - good luck to the two RLLMUK'ers that will get to experience the thrill of 2.34245 Wii U's taped together before the rest of us. Hope you enjoy it lads!

do all all the consoles have the same amount of colours?

Yeah. Two.

Black or white. With some variation in shiny or matte.

Interesting piece of detective work done on neogaf as regards the unreal 4 engine. It's been updated with settings used in switch development

[Switch DeviceProfile]

+CVars=sg.ViewDistanceQuality=2

+CVars=sg.AntiAliasingQuality=2

+CVars=sg.ShadowQuality=2

+CVars=sg.PostProcessQuality=2

+CVars=sg.TextureQuality=2

+CVars=sg.EffectsQuality=2

+CVars=r.ScreenPercentage=100

[SwitchConsole DeviceProfile]

DeviceType=Switch BaseProfileName=Switch [SwitchHandheld DeviceProfile]

DeviceType=Switch BaseProfileName=Switch

+CVars=sg.ViewDistanceQuality=1

+CVars=sg.AntiAliasingQuality=1

+CVars=sg.ShadowQuality=1

+CVars=sg.PostProcessQuality=1

+CVars=sg.TextureQuality=1

+CVars=sg.EffectsQuality=1

+CVars=r.ScreenPercentage=66

So what does this tell us? Well under its default setting when docked the settings are a bit below the default settings used in current consoles. It can still run unreal 4 well but maybe not with as high settings as ps4/Xboxone.

Now the separate profile for the portable section tells us that the firstly the default resolution is 720 unlike the 1080 of the docked mode. Also all settings have been brought down a peg. The engine will still run fine and of course devs can alter the settings to their desire. One other interesting thing is that AA is on as default even in portable mode, it's just "Fast FXAA" as opposed to the proper "FXAA" in docked mode.

So things are pretty much as expected. Better quality of things when docked.

All sounds good to me. Definitely don't need as many bells and whistles when it's on a 6" screen.

One thing I would like is analogue shoulder buttons - certain games are better with them, some games aren't possible without them, and Gamecube Virtual Console games will need them too.
