Price and games are the things I'll be looking for, battery life should be in keeping with the shield tablet surely?

In terms of battery life, Nvidia is claiming you'll get 10 hours watching/surfing the web and about five hours from gaming with its 19.75 Wh battery. This is up 3.75 Wh up from Google's Nexus 7 equivalent and from our experiential tests, we found those figures to be fairly accurate if not a best case scenario. It will pretty much last you all day, but you'll still want to let it sip juice every

I've got a bad feeling it'll be the price.

If it is the price that shocks everyone (in a bad way), then folks that have already pre-ordered from that place that is/was doing it for £198 will have secured a mighty deal.

I think £200 is nailed on personally (for the basic <cough>SKU<cough> anyway).

They wouldn't be legally obligated to sell for that price.

I think they would - they've taken the orders under a very clear pre-order price guarantee that basically assures folks the price won't go up for them. It's not an error on their end.

With our Pre-order Price Guarantee, you can order now and if the GameSeek price increases between the time you place your order and the release date, you'll be charged the lower price.

But, as I said, I think they've done that knowing full well what the planned price is - it's not just a bit of guesswork IMO.

Go grab one if you're really sure it's going to be more expensive: http://www.gameseek.co.uk/nintendo-switch

Also given fact they have taken funds as well (they charge upfront) then they wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

Usually the exchange of funds denotes entering into a contract. There is some wheedling that some companies have done when money is taken automatically and it hasn't really reached the target but they can't argue that if they have had money in their account for weeks/months

Whether they honour the price or not, good luck getting your Switch anywhere near launch day, if at all. I pre-ordered from them a while ago, game hadn't arrived two weeks after launch and I then had to spend weeks chasing them for a refund.

I've used them before with no problems, so YMMV and all that.

They can just cancel claiming low-stock. No one's going to take them to court.

Why on earth not? If I had a pre-order with them (which I don't) and they pulled that on me because Switch launched elsewhere at say £3-400, I'd deffo not just roll over and take it. As Clipper said, they'd not really have much of a leg to stand on.

I think the more likely scenario is that you'll spend a few weeks chasing them for a refund, which you'll eventually get after a lot of ignored emails and waiting on hold. Certainly that was my experience.

I don't want to derail the thread, but I'd recommend anyone has a quick google about gameseek before they order from them. They don't have a good reputation.
