So, Miyamoto has dropped a big clue [IMO] as to why the Switch is looking like such a positive Nintendo move, why it looks to be a little fresher, and why it seems to be coming from a 'new' Nintendo:

Oh man, if they've basically let the folks that worked on Splatoon just go ahead and design Switch I'm so much more positive about it. A new set of eyes from both a hardware and software perspective could be just what Nintendo needed.

23 prime orders this year all arrived next day inc PSVR on release day

 

I can go count 2015 as well if you like but I think it is the same result. I was mildly annoyed when they stopped using DPD round here but now the only difference is I don't get a 1 hr window but I do get next day without fail.

 

So the people you know are very unlucky or exaggerate or Amazon Prime offer me a service noone else gets.

He's working on the mobile stuff, and also all the alternative IP stuff - I'd say he's very close to the Universal theme park development for example.

i know but now the effect seems to have bled over into people he knows as well.

 

I am concerned that it won't be long until we are similarly afflicted, I am suggesting some sort of quarantine zone for him!

Amazon prime and, more recently, Amazon prime now, have never failed me. I have figured out that I live close enough to a distribution centre that my stuff tends to get delivered first or last thing in the day, as they're on their way out or back for the day, but it's always arrived when they say it will. 

 

Also, day one for switch. DAY ONE.

It's one of those weird things where they don't have much choice left in Japan's console developers, so it's that or Schoolgirl Ecchi Wet T-Shirt Special ~Oppai Edition~

 

Miyamoto getting all grouchy like Hayao Miyazaki "videogames were a mistake, they're nothing but trash" when picking between them.

I'm actually getting quite excited for the Switch now as this will be the first in a long long time that I will be pre-ordering a shiny new console.

 

The only downside is that I would've rather had it come out during the winter holidays so I could've gotten stuck in proper with BotW and/or a new Mario game.

Mushroom/Mario Warriors sounds absolutely perfect. Legions of Goombas and Koopa Troopas... Ride into battle on Yoshis. Start swatting them individually as Fire Mario. And then you pick up a Mega Mushroom... Koopalings as generals. Hell, this would be a perfect opportunity to trot out Fawul, Cackletta and even Tatanga again.
