From what we've heard the basic package will be £199 anyway. Not much of a deal considering they'll charge you that now and no doubt make it a hassle to cancel.

If nothing else, it does kind of protect against the pound tanking between now and then....

I'm resisting though, staying strong.....must....stay....strong.....who am I kidding, I have a pre-order with ShopTo already.

Under £200 is brilliant news. I was really getting itchy fingers one other a PS4 or an Xbox One S as they're available with a game or two for £250ish - sometimes less but now I'm going to wait until March for my next console. We voted 3-0 in favour of the Switch in our house anyway but I have been tempted. Not no more :)

I was fearful it'd be £300 with the usual launch add-ons like extra controllers and a few games bumping it up to £500ish but £200 is a great price. Given I went out on Friday night and spent £70 socialising, that's not even three nights out.

Invisible tether in the first load of Lego games (Star Wars etc). The camera will zoom out to a certain point, after which one of the players will be 'pulled' along by the other one. It's very frustrating as it can lead to getting knocked off platforms into death chasms, dragged into the line of NPC fire, etc.

From Harry Potter 1-4 (IIRC) onwards, there's a dynamic split screen. If the player characters are close together they just both see the same screen, if they move too far apart it splits and rejoins as needed.

I think the dynamic split-screen is absolutely fucking terrible. It ruined playing co-op in Lego Marvel Superheroes, which would otherwise have been marvellous (no pun intended). The line that splits the screens moves in a very unpredictable way, you never know where you are or when it will kick in. It's awful.

Most of the LEGO games (LotR, Marvel, Batman, etc.) do exactly this with massive open world/city environments.

Nothing like as good as the one in Lego City though.

I've always thought that part of the reason why LEGO City has a more detailed and richer feeling open world compared to the other Lego titles is because it was built for single player only. It also seemed to have a longer development time compared to your normal Lego games which obviously helped shit loads.

Turn the dynamic split off in the options.

The less I think about the £250+ I spent on a night out last weekend the better... thanks for reminding me that I basically threw away a new console in the space of 15 hours of drinking :(

This time next year they could be selling Switch with a copy of Pokemon Stars for £200 or less. As my obsession with Moon begins, I'm thinking they can't not have a hit with that. Mario in the spring, Zelda in the summer and Pokemon in the autumn. Hype levels rising.
