Indeed, it looks like it'll be worth the price difference regardless.  I accept it's a fantastic multiplayer shooter. I don't play multiplayer shooters :)

Neither did I, ever, until I picked up Splatoon! Then I didn't play anything else, at all, for a year.

Yeah I get asked to stream Splatoon a lot but it's not something that has really interested me much. I tried the weekend free trials but thats about it. If i have to pay extra to get the deluxe model of the switch, well i guess i'll give splatoon more of a go.

Honestly folks, it's [Splatoon] the best thing Nintendo have done in years. It's absolutely fantastic. I've played it for a ridiculous number of hours, and I was NEVER an online shooter fan before. It's very different, incredibly simple, and crazy deep all at the same time.

I'm seriously tempted to get this at launch. I skipped Wii U so updated Splatoon and Mario Kart suits me fine, and it really doesn't get much better than a new Mario game at launch.

With the year we've had, a nostalgic escape into the light colourful worlds of my childhood might just be the perfect antidote.

The core of Splatoon was great. The design was great. But let's not pretend there weren't limitations compared to other online shooters. I won't say what they were because I don't wish to stir up the defence force.

I don't think anyone has ever said it doesn't have limitations have they? Absolutely every game does in one way or another. In fact, IMO, some of the design choices they made (aka 'limitations') are what makes it so great. It's laser-focused.
