Nintendo Switch

If I can play a rerelease of Tokyo Mirage #FE on this at work, then take the portable section home and carry on where I left off, I don't care how much it is!

That kind of portability and continuance is invaluble, and half the reason why I still haven't finished #FE.

That's like saying if a car is too expensive you might as well buy a boat. PSVR isn't an alternative to a Switch. They're two totally different things.

After today I'm seriously considering investing my disposable income into some kind of VR instead of this disaster. I want new gaming experiences instead of having to buy Splatoon and Mario Kart 8 again, but this time on cartridge.

It is the same market, however Nintendo spins it.

This and other similar "does anyone know..." questions. The answer is no, we don't know.

All we have now is:

What it looks like

How it works (as in, fits together)

3rd parties

NVIDIA have worked on it

Zelda is coming out on it

Correct me if I'm wrong, but nothing else has been confirmed, has it? No specs, price, release date, games.

Probably safe to say that Skyrim, Splatoon, Mario Kart and a Mario game is coming to it, too.

I don't know about you guys, but I get annoyed when I go on holiday for two weeks, and it clashes with the latest big game release. You know the sort of thing. Game X comes out, you give it a quick go, it's awesome, everyone here is talking about it, and then two days later you're on a flight. The holiday's great, but all you think about is getting back and playing it. Sure you took your 3DS to play something else, but it's not the same. The game you want to be playing is thousands of miles away.

Not any more.

The (current) VR market and this market are totally not the same market. I mean if you group it all under "Video Game Players" then yeah, it's the same market. But to even make the comparison between the two is just bizarre. To get into PSVR you're looking at what, 600-ish quid before you even buy any games assuming you've not already got a PS4. That's not who Nintendo are going for.

The tens of millions of people that want to play Skyrim on Nintendo hardware will be very happy.

I'll be able to play Mario Kart 8, Splatoon, and The Legend of Zelda quite happily on my Wii U.

What a complete load of utter fucking shite.

Yes, because what they show in that video are all the games there will ever be.

They haven't but that Emily Rogers person listed it in her list of NX stuff which has all turned out true, so it's probably pretty reliable.

Not everything she posted turned out true, and things can and do change. Unless Nintendo confirm it, it's still conjecture.

As good as it looks they're basically just throwing away a big portion of their market - customers buying handhelds foe their kids. No way are they going to spend £350+ on one or more of these.

I like it but reckon it will sell even less than Wii U.

Yes the video game market. I think the two are comparable as this very minute I'm comparing them and wondering where to invest my money.

The Nintendo market for me, has always been about the new experience. Something I can't get elswhere. The new experience of VR appeals more to me than the new experience of this dual console experience.

That's my view, my money. Others may disagree but there it is.

We don't know the price.    We do know that Nintendo said Wii U was too expensive and wanted to address that next time out.

They said this isn't replacing Wii U or 3DS. It's another line. A third pillar, if you will.

Hmm, I seem to have heard that before.
