And is that a tiny d-pad or just decoration?  I really hope it's an adorable tiny impossible to use d-pad.

There's a minus button on the other controller, you massive idiot.  It's just a plus button.

I'm in!

Strange that people are criticising it for offering a choice of ways to play. Don't want it to be portable just leave it docked.

I'm just pleased it offers me the option to do something the WiiU never did, I will now be able to use it in "tablet" mode in the bedroom without it losing signal when you move more than 5ft away from the baseunit.

Such a weird choice to showcase your new console release with a 5 year old game that few people care about nowadays - or if they do, it's because of mods which this version obviously won't have.

Idea seems cool but as usual with Nintendo it's all about the games and considering Skyrim was heavily featured in the reveal trailer I'm not holding out any hope there.

It's basically the Wii U2, but I love the Wii U so I'm into it.

It's not ZOMG REVOLUTIONARY like the Wii seemed to be at the time but it looks like it makes some very sensible and clever design decisions. Traditional pad, tablet pad, home/portable, mini controllers, there's nothing I don't like there, and they seem to have made it all work very neatly.

Love it.  Don't really care about the detachable controller malarky. Looks like a lovely big screen in portable mode.

Big question is power.  Is it a step up (or down) from Wii U?  Does docked mode have more power?

Step up from the Wii U, but less than the PS4/Xbox, especially in portable mode (only 4GB RAM, presumably to save battery life, compared to both consoles 8GB)

Why should i pay for a screen and all the tech, then i "want to leave it docked"?

its stupid.

But even docked the controller is terrible.

All I wanted was a console with new games not more 'innovative' ways to play.

I think it looks great, but I count SIX separate components. Then you have the game cartridges. That's a lots of individual bits to loose/replace. I hope I'm wrong but it may be just a bit too fiddly for most. If the wii taught us anything, people like simple, easy to use consoles.

Yeah, I want two tiny controllers and a tiny screen I have to squint at. I can do that with my phone!

I don't understand. It's for a quick multiplayer game in the car. Which is incredible.

No idea what the power of this thing is, but practically all the games being Wii U/last gen ports is a bit discouraging. We need MORE INPUT.

Only about 20 people bought a Wii U though, so they're still new games to most of the world.
