Its coming up to the time of the year when I need to renew the Switch online, I dont use it much but do fire up the retro games enough to justify a sub…

 

After a quick look around it would appear you can only get the family + expansion pack direct, is this the case or me being silly and needing to borrow @Strafe’s glasses!?

You can’t buy that as such, you have to buy Family and upgrade/convert to the expansion through the eShop. 
 

I bought 2 years of Family and the conversion was something nominal like 17p.

I did the conversion earlier this year and it was pro-rata so a lot more than 17p! I guess its probably cheaper to cancel the auto renew, add a years family membership and then add on the expansion pass.

Yes exactly - I bought 2 years worth from cd keys and it converts family to family expansion at a rate which I can’t remember off the top of my head, but works out much cheaper than buying direct from Nintendo.

I don’t think it has amiibo (but judging on my track record in this thread I could well be wrong) and based on experience, third party rumble isn’t as good as Nintendo’s HD rumble (when they bother to use it, that is)

To be honest just selling giant fake joycons for the look would be sufficient.

Guys if you have issues with joy con drift, buy and replace them with these:

 

AKNES Gulikit Hall Sensing Joystick Replacement for JoyCon

 

The main selling point is hall sensing, which uses magnets and a conductor instead. Basically no physical contact is being made so therefore you shouldn't get drift since nothing is being worn down.

The sudden arrival of these from a few different brands (Gulikit also has them) makes me wonder if Nintendo is tinkering with including them in the next Switch revision.

It was rumored last year a DK game was in the works yes. However, i don't specifically think it was mentioned to be 3D (i hope it is though, for some reason i just prefer 3d platformers these days)
