Picked up a switch lite again.  Think the game I bought last was Yoshi..anything good come out since?

And I now understand why people sell on consoles. Did you not buy it for any reason in particular already?

No offense just sounds like you bought the console without knowing why.

Loads.  I'm not sure what kind of games you like, so here are some games of all sorts that I've enjoyed since then:

Kirby and the Forgotten World

TMNT Cowabunga Collection

TMNT Shredder's Revenge

Game Builder Garage

Animal Crossing

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Splatoon 3

Mario 3D All Stars (you'll have to find a physical copy)

Wreckfest (if you haven't played it on other consoles)

Radiant Silvergun

Great Ace Attorney Collection

Two Point Campus

Twin Cobra / Tiger Heli Collection

Slipstream

And Mario Kart 8 now has 16 extra tracks with another 32 on the way by the end of next year.

There, that should get you started.

Someone enjoyed themselves making this trailer:

Looks like 60fps? That's a welcome surprise.

Out on the 13th.

Greatest game music of all time. Nothing else comes close.

man! I wish you had the option to buy these rather than them being locked behind the online sub. :(

Such memories of playing the JPN import of this and figuring out how to beat missions (mostly just fucking them off and bombing around the island).

I wish they'd give you the option of using the UK boxart even if the game itself is NTSC.

I'd like that if they extended it to the Japanese art as well. US cuts off the right side with the annoying red overlay and the PAL release has that obnoxious black border.

Always liked the Japanese cover:

Oh definitely the best option would be to let us pick, I'm just setting the bar low cos it's Nintendo.

I don't ever play my original switch. Should I sell it?

I guess I could pick up a lite at some point, or trade it for a lite?

I mean it’s up to you isn’t it, really? You won’t gain anything by owning a Lite, smaller screen, non detachable joycons, no multiplayer. It’s fine if you’re seeking increased portability due to its more compact nature, but would that make you play it?

The best handheld experience is on the OLED, there’s just no contest.

It’s so good, that I make multi-format game purchase decisions based on this alone.

I could play Tunic in 60fps on the Deck (or 40fps or whatever, to get decent battery life), but I waited for it on Switch because for me, it’s worth it for the smaller form factor + utterly gorgeous OLED display.

I'm annoyed that our new LG isn't simply a much bigger version of the Switch OLED screen. It's not even half the quality, not even when watching something in HDR.

Which LG do you have? I have a C1 and it’s really impressive, and for HDR it’s stunning, but really most content looks fab on it, including Switch games.

I do think the screen size really helps though, on Switch OLED, it’s the perfect size when running at that resolution, and of course it’s closer to your eyes so you really get the benefit of it.

That’s my dream TV! Mine is a lowly 65” ! You not feeling it though?

Movies, yes. Switch, no. 😕 I don't have any 4K console that could possibly do it justice. I have my 3080FE, but then I only ever bring the PC down during my one week Christmas break. I've yet to try the MiSTer on it as well.

One of my gaming monitors is the same. If I don't feed it a native resolution source the colours and contrast are all out of whack.

Many Switch games aren't going to look great on a 77 inch 4K screen. A 4k screen that size is going to completely expose the relatively low resolution most Switch games run at, plus many Switch titles completely lack any form of anti-aliasing. It's nothing much to do with the quality of the OLED screen being different between your TV and your Switch. It's just the screen size.

Anyone with a Switch Lite have any experience of a broken minus button? It clicks, but does nothing. Took the Lite apart, cleaned the button contacts with contact cleaner, dusted everywhere, etc. and put it back together. Worked perfectly for two days, now it doesn't work any more.

We use Switches on a 70" 4K screen at work and they games (Smash, Mario Kart and Rocket League) look fine.

Of course I don't expect the resolution to look any good. My beef is with the gamma and contrast. It's too blue, and the whites aren't even that bright.

I've followed all the self-calibration tutorials I could find. I guess I need it sorting with a probe.

On the Switch OLED screen the contrast gives off an almost psychedelic experience. The colours seem perfect, too.

You just need to calibrate the picture settings for the specific HDMI port your Switch is plugged into to your tastes. There’s nothing inherently different about the screen and the resolution won’t be affecting the colour. Brightness, Contrast and White Point will be the main three settings you want.
