OK, am I reading this correctly? It's the same bollocks I encounter on the Xbox - while I'm personally playing the primary console, I cannot also be playing on a secondary. That means in order to play ACNH at the same time as my wife, with a single digital copy, I need to make her Switch my primary (by signing into eShop and doing something) and that means my existing island on the old Switch is secondary and I can play ACNH with an active internet connection. But!

Quote

While using a non-primary console, downloadable content can only be started by the user that purchased the content.

So now given we're mostly digital, my games can't be played by the kids on the secondary machine? The fuck. If I'm reading that right, that's way more restrictive than the Microsoft game sharing.

I think I'm looking at:

a) having her buy another copy of ACNH

b) her not having access to my digital library, if I'm reading this link correctly

c) admittedly, the Switch Online stuff working because simply being a part of a family group conveys that to all member accounts

Is this right?

edit - fuck it, I can't be bothered figuring any of this out. We're not putting the kids on her Switch anyway, so she'll just buy another ACNH and keep the device entirely separate (save for the new Switch Account being added to the family group for Online).

Wonder if anyone can help with the best way to clean the Switch screen?

I got some of the velvet screen protectors on the dock to stop the marks appearing on the sides of the screen due to sliding the console into the dock, but unfortunately on one side it slightly came away from the dock and the sticky back of it was exposed to the screen. Now I have the sticky glue stuff on the screen., as you can see below:

Had a look online on the best way to remove it, but some many different opinions, just wary of using anything and it will damage the screen.

Is a damp cloths with vinegar the best way?

Isn’t this just as if it were a physical game? If two people want to play co-op, most of the time 2 copies were needed. I know it’s a pain, but it’s how it’s been almost all of the time with only a few exceptions.

If the household only has one copy (or licence), then only one person can be playing.

Does this mean that, despite doing mental numbers, still fewer than half of all Switch owners have Mariocars?

Thats mind-boggling.

I only bought it because of the DLC. I'd stuck with the Wii U version until then.

Those figures show the Switch is now only about 9m behind the PS4's lifetime sales (although they are still creeping up slowly, I suppose).

Depends how many are sitting on multiple consoles.

I have an OG, Lite and OLED, but only one copy of Mario Kart.

Yeah same here. One thing is for sure, Nintendo will stick with the hybrid console from now. Their handhelds have always done well and I just can’t imagine them making a home console only system in the future.

Then again it’s Nintendo

Yeah that's fair, and we did actually get a physical copy in the end.

I guess I draw the line at subscription services - I don't own the games there and think it's reasonable they can be shared across users.

Ah, yes - we have three Switches too.

Actually, more than that - aren't those figures just for *physical* copies anyway?

My MK is digital.

EDIT: Yes - 45.33m physical copies. No figures for digital.

I can see the argument for that; more like rentals in that case. There’s probably a middle ground/a way for second-sales to be an attractive price, or something… I dunno :)

So just noticed that my pro controller doesn’t charge if I have the switch docked playing on my tv. As soon as I turn the switch off it charges no problem but whilst gaming it doesn’t charge. Is that normal, could someone check there’s for me

Are you using the official PSU to power the dock?
