Got Doom Eternal - holy fuck those guys at Panic Station have some otherworldly powers. There’s is no way this should run and play as well as it does. It’s an amazing technical achievement.

I did cave in and buy this . Once you get used to graphics it's great. Not a hitch when things get busy.

I have all the Doom's on a handheld. Who would have thought this was possible when Doom 3 came out all those years ago.

Yeap - likewise, Doom 1, 2, 64, 3, 2016 and Eternal all on the Switch.  What a time to be alive.

So Grindstone....any good?

I played a fair bit of it on Apple Arcade and I thought it was very, very good. There’s a lot of choice in how to approach each level and the devs have put a ton of work into making everything feel satisfying.

I did find it a bit frustrating when a level was going badly, though.

Overall, I thought it was comfortably the best game of it’s genre I’ve played, far better than Ironcast.

Although not as good as Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes.

Horace is on sale for £1.09 at the moment, I'd heartily recommend it. It's actually my number 2 for GOTY this year. If you like 2D platformers with cool gravity mechanics and a great story you'd be mad not to buy it at that price!

...just be aware that the PEGI 7 is a fucking cunting lie :)

I laughed out loud when one of the character called another "a bit of a c***". Great game. I bought it full price a couple of weeks ago but I'm not unhappy, it's a really long game (maybe a touch too long) and well worth it. Also brutally difficult in places.

Bought it this morning. It sounds great, though at 13-20 hours (thanks HLTB), I’m hoping it doesn’t outstay it’s welcome.

Amazingly I had 109 gold point in my account so have just picked this up for nothing.

What are people's recommendations for controllers? My left joycon's stick now glides upwards really frequently, and short of trying a fix I was thinking of picking up an extra controller anyways. Was eyeing up one of the Hori Split Pad, but wanted to know if there are any other recommendations? I do have a Pro Controller back in the UK I intend on picking up at some point, though rather comically the left stick on that has acted up as well, doesn't register downward pushes too well. Dammit Nintendo.

The Hori Split pad is great as a Joycon replacement - it's more comfortable and the dpad is better. The only thing it doesn't have is rumble, and you can't use it with the Switch docked.

If you're looking for a controller to use while the Switch is docked then the Pro controller that you already own is the best option.

It looks a little small. But with everything Tokyo has to offer, definitely worth the £1,000 round trip.

I was thinking the same thing. I think Miyamoto's enthusiasm probably made it look a little better than it actually is? But god dammit if I don't want to go as soon as possible.
