The Wii U and 3DS were significantly more expensive and bogged down by their respective technologies, than the Wii and DS.

Wii launch price: £179, £241 in today's money.

Wii U launch price: £249, £274 in today's money.

That's not a significant difference.

Yes, the gimped version was £250, @deKay. Nobody wanted that version.

No, but as it turned out, it was the wiser choice for many. The cheap one and a sensor bar and a hard drive was less money than the expensive one and a hard drive. The difference in on-board storage was irrelevant in the end as neither is enough.

Why would you buy a game in a series where you haven't enjoyed any of the previous entries?

Probably because there's no other games I guess.

Because I wanted the copy of Star Fox Guard it came with, and the main problems I'd had with older games didn't exist in this.

You've got to question your taste in games when you buy a game you don't want for the free game it comes with which is some kind of £5 psn tower defence throw away ..

I bought some terrible racing game for the Cube so I could get the Pacman Vs. game. Best free game ever.

For me, the Wii U became a pain to turn on and deal with the gamepad and OS, even with the Quickstart menu. With the PS4 you're just there straight away making it more viable as a video streaming device, plus unrestricted community features, bluray. etc.

I have no idea what you're on about. Turn on, press quick start icon, play game. Alternatively, press boot to menu, press game icon, play game. It's identical to the PS4 you just use your finger (or not) instead of the controls.

Oh you're the guy who used to proudly boast he had a collection of 2000+ games and counted downloadable ones in that I remember.

Sometimes I forget what forum I'm on...

Used to? I still do. Why don't downloadable ones count? I don't include PS+ games, if that's what you're thinking.

The PS4 has a sleep feature though. Pick up exactly where you left off with zero loading times.
