Is that a physical version of the game though or is it a lovely box containing a quarter of the game once you download the patches.

It's the full game. Just installed it and there's no patches for it.

Guys - advice please. There are three of us who play the Switch regularly, but only one who is REALLY into Animal Crossing. She wants online to get all the fruits and other things, should I just get a standard 12 month online for £13ish or should I get a family one? I guess I’d quite like to play the SNES games but I could just do that on my daughters profile? Is there anything I’m missing?

Yeah you might as well only get the standard 12 month pass if only one of you is planning to go online. You'd just need to play the SNES/NES games on that profile like you say. You'd also have access to Tetris 99 which is awesome.

I originally had a single online account but when it came to renewal I changed to the family pass. It's not a huge amount of money and it just makes things much easier if someone else does want to have a go online and doesn't have to use just the one account. There's so many games that use online these days.

Quick couple of questions for those who know the system better than me if you don’t mind.

We have a standard Switch. My 7-year old daughter wants to get Animal Crossing. She has her own profile on the console that she can play it on. She also wants to save up and buy herself a Switch Lite (I’m so proud).

1. If I buy Animal Crossing on cartridge, is it possible for her to export her profile to a Switch Lite when she gets one, including her save games (for other games as well).

2. If I buy Animal Crossing digitally (which would be on my profile), is it possible to then sign in my profile on a Switch Lite when she gets one and redownload it for her to play? Plus export her profile as above.

I’m leaning towards option 1 as that seems less faff. Cheers for any help.

1 - as the island is tied to the Switch no, I don’t think that would be possible; your daughter would have to start again on a new island.

2 - you could buy the game digitally through your account (assuming you haven’t already done so - you didn’t mention how you’re playing now) and sign in on the second Switch but it would be registered as your secondary Switch, I think, and this might place limitations on how freely your daughter can play games that due to this... but I’ll leave that for others to say as I don’t have first-hand experience of how it works.

I would wait until she has her own Switch personally.

Awesome! Haven't they had the hanafuda cards available in US or Japan for a while? Glad they've made it over here.

Edit- Must be popular as it's bombed the website and I can't log in to checkout.

I'm logged in but I can't check out.

@bradigor & @MikeBeaver is fixing the cart slot an easy job? It looks to have broken on my sons, I can’t see if the pins are bent or something, it’s not reading any carts though and I’ve tried cleaning the cartridges and blowing in the slot in case there was a build up of anything.

It is a separate board that is fairly simple to replace from what I understand.

Here is a guide on iFixit

Thanks, I’ll look into it although already considering just getting a new one despite not really having the cash so he doesn’t miss out :(

I can kinda justify the price as would get more joycons and a dock...

It's REALLY easy, unclip some zif connectors, unscrew the screws, swap it out... test it ( as, depending where you get the cart connector from, it may or may not work, there's been dud's about before now ) put it back together and away you go :)

Apart from Paper Mario, have any first-party, non-ported games been confirmed for this year, does anyone know? I'll end up getting the Mario collection, if it materialises, but surely Nintendo have got something in the bag for Q4, what with their two biggest competitors releasing new consoles, and all?

Where's the E3 Direct equivalent?
