I'm not sure if this is the best thread, but worth a try:

Does anybody know a good guide to getting little (6yrs) kids started in Minecraft creative mode? I haven't played since it was early in the PC days, haven't really got a clue what's going on and don't really have time to learn through trial and error, and nor does the boy have much patience!

I've got it for him because he was getting well into terraforming in Animal Crossing, but his taste and mine for island modifications are rather different. I figured I could leave him building houses and caves and whatnot in Minecraft for ages. If I can get him started.

Anyone recommend a decent case for the Switch? My daughter is spending a lot of time with it undocked these days and I am worried she will inevitably drop it/jump on it etc.

Have already had to ban her from taking it on the toilet!

I use one of these, got it from Game. Nice and protective, has slots to put the cartridges in, plus has a make shift stand for the console too. Same price on Amazon plus they have a few different styles.

Do they have access to YTKids (YouTube kids)? Mine learned from videos because I had no idea what’s going on! They picked it up quickly and have worked out pretty complex stuff via videos. But of course that does add more potential “screen time”.

we do, although we've kinda hidden it because it still led to rabbit holes of badness. I was just wondering if there were any videos specifically recommended since there are a LOT out there, but if it's just a case of finding our way, we shall manage.

Yeah I heard there’s still a pretty strong player base for this online?

More so than anniversary collection anyway...

I've been getting match-ups/net play within minutes...since I got it.

Arcade is still a blast too...I generally play that with fight request on.

:)

Please could I ask..

Anyone know the best place to buy a street fighter anniversary code...

Thank you.

I have it on Ps4...but my Ps4 broke at the weekend, says it can't start. I've put it in safe mode but it won't rebuild database...it fails at 36% Every time

No big deal right now, but I'd like to pick up anniversary...again!

Namco are releasing a Famicom retro collection in Japan which will include a demake of Pac-Man CE.

UK version is out in a couple of weeks, called Namco Museum Archives.

I heard. Gutted tbh.

So many iconic 80/90's arcade games / platformers not getting the rep they deserve.

Gamers today would think Super Mario Bros invented the platformer.

The problem for me with PacLand is that they miss the point of the original control scheme - it’s a platformer version of Track and Field!

Run faster by tapping the run right button faster, which makes the platform jumping more intricate. Instead they try and turn it into another Mario platformer where you hold right to run right.

This video where the guy has restored the original arcade machine shows it off (He’s got some good restoration videos on there!)

Some possibly very important news, but I've just discovered that if you press the joy con sticks in to wake up the machine to the home screen it makes funny noises.

Apologies if this is old information, but its made my weekend, frankly.

Woah, I never knew this. It's like the secret version of the gamecube boot screen that you could access with z.

And is the only was to make the big jumps. Not forgetting the secret areas...

Edit: I think there are secret areas; the guy in the video didn't access any. Maybe just secrets - I seem to recall you had to press back or down on a fire hydrant in the first level for one.

I suspect if they'd been able to release the New 3DS and its implementation of 3D from the start things would have gone a lot differently there.

I think the death of 3D generally in the home market for TVs would have killed it off anyway - it was a nice feature though.

So I was watching a video about the best 15 racing games on Switch:

Does anybody know what game the thumbnail of the video is? The HUD doesn't seem to match any from the video.

If the thumbnail doesn't show it's this:

Yeah, video called Grid 2 1st 20 minutes on YouTube
