Can see them sticking with the Switch for the foreseeable future, it’s just too successful for them to suddenly change the format again next gen.

You could have said that about the Wii, in fairness. Then look how that turned out.

I think the future for the switch is revisioned hardware like pro/X and eventually you’ll get games like a few 3DS ones that would only work on the new/pro models.

Then Nintendo might introduce a new, separate console/column like a VR console or something (that works this time)

This is what concerns me a bit with Nintendo at times... When the next iteration of hardware comes out will they just shut the Switch store down and move on to the next thing... hopefully not as everything seems a bit better thought out this time with software linked to accounts rather than machines. The Wii did get released in 2006 I guess and Nintendo were doing a bit of learning regarding digital content management I guess.

Although still early days I guess.... I've invested more into the Switch than previous Nintendo hardware so if they cut me dry again at some point won't be happy.

I think I’d probably have a shout for being the person here who has spent most on new Nintendo stuff (I can’t imagine I could compete with proper collections, but I have bought A LOT of full price Nintendo games and consoles), and I’ve been pretty angry in the past about them expecting me to buy the same stuff over and over again. I’ve learned to just accept that they will often try to charge you again for games you’ve already paid for, often very recently. I don’t expect that to change at all just because other companies are doing different things that offer better value and more respect for customer purchases. That’s never changed their business decisions before. I’ve just stopped buying games I’ve paid them for in the past, unless it’s a genuine beast of a game like Breath of the Wild.

That’s what I thought about the virtual console on the Wii, and on the 3DS, etc. They can charge people for the same things again, so they always will. Their games and catalogue allow them that leeway because of the immense quality that no other games company could ever compete with.

Has there been literally anything more than an announcement trailer for Borderlands yet? I kind of want it despite myself.

You can pre-order it - it's out next week:

What more do you want to know?

We have some sayings now for the moves in Heave Ho, all said in a 1940s twang:

The Old Swing

The Big Toss

Alley Oops

Touch Me

Reach Out

Coming In Hot

What a wonderful game, simple concept, executed perfectly. I hope it’s made lots of money for the creators.

Bioshock collection. I know there’s a hefty download for two of the games but are they just a software update/patch or does it contain codes in the box for two of them?

I want to get the physical edition and just thinking about resale value here.

It's not 2 of the games I think Bioshock is just the beginnings of all 3 games.

Which implies patch.

Edit : Yep

The physical game contains an 16GB cartridge including the opening acts of BioShock Remastered, BioShock 2 Remastered, and BioShock Infinite: The Complete Edition. Later game contents and add-ons will need to be downloaded.

My switch isn’t accepting my debit/credit cards on eshop after I shut down the one I was using.

Ive tried 3 different cards and each time it says the card issuer won’t let me use it.  I called one of the card issuers and they said there wasn’t any issue at their end.

Anyone else had this issue? How do I fix it? Resetting  the Switch hasn’t helped

I’m fine with the patch, as long as it’s not a Bayonetta 1&2 deal where one of the games is a code. Resale value, basically.

Is there a good translation of Panel de Pon’s menus? Google shows a lot of WIP ROM patches but I’m having trouble finding a menu guide that seems to correspond to the SNES version.

Google translate’s camera?

I must say it’s quite ballsy of Nintendo to put Japanese language titles on the SNES for the overseas markets.

Especially since, according to a quick Wiki check, Panel de Pon was actually released in the English language at the time.

That’s very Ballsy.

Can you link your preferred card to PayPal and then use PayPal on the Switch?

Never been a fan of pay pal at all.

Luckily I managed to get a £50 voucher in Tesco earlier today

Anyone know how long NBA2K is going to be reduced for?  Fancy it but the memory card in the Switch is 32GB and don’t have any larger ones around so will have to order a new one if I go for it, or can I pay and not download the game?
