C&C Remastered for switch? I might be up for some of that depending on the controls.

Friend is desperately trying to find a Switch (not lite). I think i heard shops should be getting some stock this week.

Here's hoping.... it's my son's birthday in a few weeks and he's been saving for ages to get one (and will have enough with birthday money).  I ordered one from Amazon on Friday but it went "missing" over the weekend.

If anyone sees them in stock anywhere, could you give me a nudge?  I'm currently checking the following sites a couple of times a day:

  • store.nintendo.co.uk
  • argos.co.uk
  • ao.com
  • very.co.uk
  • amazon.co.uk
  • game.co.uk
  • smythstoys.com

It's the first console (or indeed decent sized 'thing') that he's buying with his own money after saving up, so it needs to be new, and I'm not going to let him use any of the price-gougy marketplace resellers asking stupid money (which I'm guessing is where our 'missing' one will end up...)

@Darhkwing having said that, I just managed to place an order from Smyths, here https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/video-games-and-tablets/nintendo-gaming/nintendo-switch/nintendo-switch-consoles/nintendo-switch-grey-with-improved-battery-life/p/182023

Still showing in stock for delivery at the moment, but let's be honest, I'm not holding my breath!

I am now!

Edit: And now I'm not - Smyths came through and delivered today - pretty speedy considering!  Thanks for the heads up though - this is the first time for aaaages I've wanted to buy something and couldn't immediately get it.

[Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat]: Oh, and that HD remaster of an EA game is the Mass Effect Trilogy. Just don’t expect that to also launch on Switch — at least not at first.

Oh FFS EA. LOL.

Still no details on what's coming this year

I would imagine scheduling is a little up in the air right now - must be tough to really know if things are going to ready, produced in required numbers etc - I'd expect a lot of stuff to be held until they are 100% they can actually release it. Release date announcements might be much closer to actual release etc

Of course people are still doing the "omg lol what do they have for this year?!" in May when Nintendo do this every single year. Like rgraves says too, things will be even more in the air now, they even said as much during the conference call.

If the effects of COVID-19 are prolonged or worsen further, development schedules may be impacted due to the difference in development environments between working from home and in the office. In particular, the impact to overseas subsidiaries and other affiliated companies involved in development is anticipated to be even more difficult to predict than within Japan.

As a result of these factors, we may not be able to proceed with the release of Nintendo products and the start of services as planned. This is also true for other software publishers, so it may not be possible to provide game content on Nintendo platforms as planned.

Sony and Microsoft are facing the same problems, the difference is they tend to announce stuff a lot earlier than Nintendo tend to.

I read that as Nintendo-tend-o, like a familiar nickname for anyone not into that whole brevity thing.

I’m sure this has been asked countless times so apologies in advance.

Mrs Mul bought Animal Crossing: NH and has fallen in love with it.

we’re at a point where she is using the switch way more than me.

if we were to buy a switch lite, how easy is it for her to transfer her save to the new console?

also, I don’t play ac:nh so is it possible for her to redownload the game on the lite without having to buy it again?

If she transfers her profile I think it will transfer her save. AC doesn’t cloud save, but I think it would transfer with the whole profile wouldn’t it?

EDIT Apparently not!

"This game does not currently support the ability to transfer your save file from one Nintendo Switch console to another. However, a function specific to Animal Crossing: New Horizons to move users and save data to another console is planned for later this year."

I did this when I bought my nephew an AC switch.

On the new one, put your profile on it as well but you won’t be able to transfer the save.

Best solution would be for her to continue on your switch and you play on hers or she starts fresh.

You wouldn’t be able to play at the same time either.
