Is there a nice way to buy digital games as gifts on the Switch?  My daughter wants Stardew Valley for her birthday, and not sure the best way to do it, short of giving her the money to buy it for herself (which is a bit rubbish).

Buy a code from cdkeys and make a mocked up case?

Those didn’t last long.

You're not kidding! Game.co.uk have them in stock in bundles with 2 games at £390. That's the only place I can see them at the moment.

Yeah FIFA is on there and Sims (possibly) they’re a weird company.

Pre-order Burnout Paradise for £45.

Odd price point wonder if this is EA tax or Nintendo tax or both. It's a great game and it would be nice to have it on Switch but £45 is a bit too much for me for a game I played some 12 years ago now on the PS3.

I ought to know this having posted a billion times in this thread, but what is the best option for a second dock that isn't 90 quid, please?

I am tempted to just get the official one but I feel like punching myself in the face every time I consider it.

When this was £15 within days of its original release on the 360 (I got it for that with Trivial Pursuit included or something, I think!), has been free on both Games With Gold and PS+, has been free on the PC at some point, and is usually less than £5 these days, that's fucking ridiculous. £25, sure. £45? No.

And I love it and have bought it 4 times or something now (and still haven't paid £45 in total!)

Agree £25 is a fair price given they have to optimise for Switch hardware etc. I expect it will be in a sale at some point for nearer the £20 price mark....

Ah shoot.

Seeing as they got rid of press conferences ages ago I thought Nintendo more than most would still be able to have a show in June but it does make sense if software development has ground to a halt (or at least slowed down a bunch).

Still, a disappointment. I thought we were gonna get a zoom treehouse and everything :(

Has anyone used ShopTo or CDKeys for Switch games?  Are they okay to buy from?  Are they "grey market" and is there a risk of the code not turning up, or being de-authorised at a later date?

I've used CDKeys for a couple of things - bought Animal Crossing and The Stretchers off there - and never had an issue.

Yes bought a few things from CD keys for Switch, Xbox and PC over the years.never had an issue. They send the key through almost immediately which you securely collect through their site. Bought Luigi's Mansion 3 a few months back never had an issue with the codes or getting them revoked etc.

I've bought PS4 credit, Switch credit and Switch games from CD Keys. They're reliable and, the one time it didn't go flawlessly, their customer service was also decent. ShopTo I won't use on the principle that if they can't make a website that doesn't look like ass, then they're probably awful.

Shopto are totally legit and really good.

Conversely, I've bought two things off shopto in recent history, both of which I had problems with. One time, they took money out of my account for a game, never shipped it and when I queried it a few days later I got a refund issued without any communication from them at all. I wouldn't touch them again.

ShopTo quadruple charged me for Pokémon Sword and Shield and still didn’t send me copies. Got it all refunded eventually (it took me overdrawn though!) and bought elsewhere. They also wouldn’t send stuff to my work address as they have a policy your first three orders have to be sent to your card’s registered address - which is fine but this was after more than 12 orders to that address.
