I had this issue when setting up my new Switch last week. I manually entered DNS servers in the settings - 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1. The Switch seems happy to pick up IP and default router / gateway via DHCP.

Thanks - I'll give the DNS from two different providers a go and see if that helps.

It started happening again last night so the reboot is unlikely to be the fix sadly. Still unsure if the error message is even relevant.

I want to buy Divinity Original Sin 2, but it seems to be really expensive here, cant find a download code and its £50 on the estore.

I have found a US code for £34, I already have a US account, used it for Edith Finch when a seller sent me a US code instead of a UK one! Presumably the Divinity Original Sin code can br played in the same way without issue?

Really chuffed it’s coming to Switch. Hopefully it finds the audience it deserves. Fantastic game.

Is there any discussion about Shinsekai on the forum? I've noticed you and I have pretty similar tastes so your endorsement has raised my eyebrows.

A few of us discussed it whenever it released on Apple Arcade, too. Probably starting with @Uncle Nasty and his post here:

More discussion followed in that Apple Arcade thread. Really glad Shinsekai has its own thread now, however :)

Quick Q on physical v digital.

I had the physical version of Zelda BoTW and bought the expansion pass. If I now buy the digital version of Zelda (same region) will the expansion pass automatically work/  be there for me to download?

I'm not so fussed about the save file working as I'll probably start again :)

Cheers

Any Rune Factory 4 fans? I’ve been looking at it for a while and just decided to bite the bullet, want this to be my go to game between Animal Crossing sessions,

It’s got some cracking reviews, and looks a bit like Harvest Moon with RPG elements and lots of levelling (all very me) or am I miles off?

No, that's pretty much it. I've loved the 15 or so hours I've put into it and I've barely scratched the surface. I posted about it here.

The joycon on my switch seem to pop out with not much pressure on the bottom of them. Has anyone else had this, and is there a way to fix it?

Had this exact problem for quite a while.

It's something to do with a catch being broken or worn out or something.

Seen a couple of things in eBay that give you a fix but not bit the bullet and bought it.

Lites are back in stock on Amazon. I'm on the fence though. I think I'd prefer a full fat Switch, but they're rare as rocking horse shit at the minute, or going at silly prices from cunts on the marketplace. How many games can you download onto a Switch Lite?

Depends on the games - you can fit loads of smaller or indie games on there but some of the bigger third party games will eat a good potion if not all of the 32gb internal storage up. Luckily SD cards give you lots of extra cheap storage.

I go physical on everything too which saves space for download only games.

The Switch has been a flipping lifeline in all this Covid stuff. My wife and daughter are both playing Animal Crossing and working together to tidy up the island and fill the museum, and sending each other little presents and messages. I'm playing a bit of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 where I can sneak it in, and my 3 year old is starting to get to grips with the phoned-in-but-harmless Paw Patrol game.

The Paw Patrol game stinks of multiplatform port, TBH. Long load times, and only works with a full controller rather than a single joycon, despite only needing a few buttons. It also bewilderingly doesn't have the official Paw Patrol music, but weird non-copyright-infringing soundalikes - I understand this is surprisingly common with licensed games. Still, it's teaching him to run and jump, and even double-jump - I'll have him playing Revenge of Shinobi before long.

We bought a Lite after AC came out and when playing in handheld on my regular switch I get a bit jealous. I prefer the lighter and slightly smaller form and it has a nice texture to it too.

If you're not fussed about not being able to play it on the TV I would recommend.

Looks like switches are in really short supply at the moment. Cex for example are offering more than the price of one new for a pre-owned one. :) Not often you can sell a console for more than you bought it new for two years ago!

*Current offering for cash at Cex is £272 for a boxed one.

I don’t get much use out of mine and am honestly thinking of selling it and upgrading to the newer model when they come back into stock, or waiting for the Switch XXL.

They’re like £300+ on eBay.

Must admit the thought had crossed my mind too.... I use it a bit but I've actually started using my ancient 360 these days and working through the backlog of gold games on that....

I'm hoping there's a £1 seller thing on eBay, because I don't want to pay £40 in fees and paypal, but I also want to price cap it so people aren't paying over £300.

I don't think there will be any £1 listing events any time soon though, as everyone is profiteering like crazy on eBay for anything in short supply.

Multiple sources have told VGC that the platform holder is planning to hold an event to coincide with this year’s anniversary, which marks 35 years since the start of the mainline Super Mario series in 1985.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, Nintendo will reveal plans to re-release most of Super Mario’s 35-year back catalogue this year, remastered for Nintendo Switch, VGC was told.

Nintendo will also release several other Mario titles in 2020, including a new instalment in the Paper Mario series.

Super Mario Galaxy 1&2 HD would be great, thanks.

:) OK Switch staying.... Also Salamander has just been released been waiting for this since the PS4 went. Don't like the Konami collection version as it's the American/Japanese release.

Also finally Dangerous Driving 2 and Burnout Paradise are heading the Switch direction so some decent arcade racers.

Happy days here. Determined to finish this and plenty of time to practice at the moment....
