Shame. Such a simple game can be ruined. Sigh, Just a direct port of the original would suit me as a digital download. For £10 even better. No frills or gimmicks....

I’d pay a tenner just for a Switch port of Monkey Target.

And not forgetting Monkey bowling too... Oh Monkey Ball was such an amazing launch game.... :D Loved my Gamecube. One of the last "pure" gaming consoles. Its one of things I *love* about the Switch.... No messing with films music web browsers etc. It just plays games*

*OK it now does you-tube too... which dilutes its purity for me a bit but understandable as the kids want it...

Would it be worth separating some of it? Axiom Verge might get a bit more on its own rather than including in a bundle - it is a bit niche and could appeal to a more collecting focussed gamer. Whereas, in a bundle people are mainly after the hardware and may not be as concerned what comes with it.

I personally wouldn't sell the account in case you end up with a Switch again down the line (or some other Nintendo offering that allows you to play them).

Yeah, might sell Axiom Verge just to get some food money, seems it goes for £40-£80 for the multiverse edition I have.

Fancied trying out the Switch D Pad so bought some new shells. It’s really good; in bed at the moment (long week) and playing Donkey Kong and find it much nicer to play with (than the stick).

Highly recommended.

Anyone else played (or thinking of playing) Jacob Jazz’s Baobab’s Mausoleum Episode 1: Ovnifagos Don’t Eat Flamingos?

Aside from the name, I cant really recommend it, but it’s the most bizarre game I’ve played since Switch on the MegaCD. Completely incoherent, the plot makes no sense and is abandoned almost immediately, and it flits from genre to genre seemingly at random. It’s like playing a cheese dream.

Nintendo Life advisory, but great review for Two Point Hospital.

Seems the main issue I was concerned about (controls) is pretty much okay. Welcome relief after Cities: Sklines.

Quote

The beating heart (again, intended) of Two Point Hospital is its comedy, and it permeates every aspect of the game. From staff names like 'Dr. Explosion' or 'Ms. Chatterbox' the receptionist

I don't get it.

I played Ruiner a couple of years back on the PS4 and didn't think it was that good unfortunately. I found it extremely tryhard in its bleakness and with some awful bosses. I think I played it off the back of Nex Machina so it was always going to come off somewhat badly, but I was surprised by just how little I enjoyed it.

We all can appreciate different things, I loved the music, style and sheer responsiveness of the varied combat.I found it a beautiful hybrid of some of the best arena arcade games with a nailed on aesthetic  As someone who's played arcade games and shmups since the 80's I found nothing interesting about Nex Machina as it failed at the first step to make it's own identity.

I really liked Nex Machina (but didn’t love it).

I gave Ruiner a go on Game Pass last night. It feels like a worse version of Hotline Miami with a 2edgy4u aesthetic. Will keep going for a bit longer. When things get hectic, it’s quite difficult to see what’s going on, too - lots of neon red. Not sure how well that will carry over onto the Switch’s small screen.

Ok this is probably a really tedious question that has been answered many times already, but if I am getting a new switch but want to give my old switch to my wife and make it her primary console, transfer all my data and user to the new console, but retain her data etc on the old machine, get an online family account for both of us, and ensure we can both play Animal Crossing with our own villages, is there a guide or post or something people can point me to, particularly that highlights any potential gotchas?

Concerned I will do something in the wrong order, cock it all up unwittingly, then it will just be "please understand" etc.

It's easy, you can transfer the data on a per-user basis - so just transfer your user profile to the new Switch.

Do you already have a family online subscription - if not, you might need to reach out to ask customer services the best way to not lose whatever you have already on your individual account.

Ok cool seems simple enough, thanks.

Is the Switch lite region free?

I'm going to be in the US later this year and thinking of picking up a Lite. I'm assuming that as it's USB charging it will charge fine back here.

Any other pitfalls in getting one?

Yes. Just be aware your warranty won't be covered by Nintendo UK.

I played a bit more Ruiner last night and see what you mean about the combat. Once it opens up a bit, it feels a lot like Doom with those finisher moves. It's a lot of fun.
