What would they have released the physical version on if the team didn't get coronavirus?

The team didn't get the coronavirus, it's just Virtuos in China have shut down because of the outbreak so the game has been delayed. This must have given them enough time to get a physical cart version ready instead.

What's a decent size MicroSD card to get and is it worth getting a Switch specific one?

I don't plan on buying a huge amount of digital games, just the ones that go on sale at a cheaper price than the physical version.

Depends on how big the digital games are really. I'm full digital and have a 512gb card. If all you're downloading is small indie titles just get a 128gb maybe? You've got a cheap path to upgrade to a 256 later if you need to. There's zero need to get a Switch branded one unless you like the idea of having a logo on a card you never see.

I have a 128GB and it's been more than enough. I generally buy the big first party games on cart and everything else digital. There's probably about 30 games on there and it's nowhere near full.

A square Direct video using graphic overlays that Nintendo haven't used in two years or more? Yeah, it's definitely real.

EDIT: And posted on the 1st of April last year? That seals the deal.

Fair enough. So wonder if this will actually appear on the Switch at some point.... Hope so....

I seem to remember a few people on here who'd used the Hori Split Pad pro speaking highly of it / them  (I'm really liking the look of the spacing between the stick and buttons) and it's currently of offer at Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07T5QKKVP/?tag=hupeuk-21

Must admit I'm pretty tempted to give it a whirl as whilst my modded joycons are far more comfortable to hold then the stock ones I still find the buttons rather cramped / too close for my liking.

I mean the 3DS release wasn't too long ago and you can pick up both Zelda games and a 3DS fairly cheap nowadays

Problem. Don't have a 3DS. :)

Just intrigued as to why Nintendo aren't revisiting their back catalogue so much on the Switch. Guessing expected sales won't meet expectations so not worth porting.

Shame as I think with its bigger screen switch would be a great platform for this and Mario 64 for that matter....

It's Nintendo isn't it.  If you can make money porting the Spyro trilogy and selling all three games for £40 there's definitely money to be made porting things like Mario 64 and OOT.

It is quite possible they will come eventually but you can just never predict Nintendo.  Who thought that out of all the old games to be remastered, we'd have got Link's Awakening before Mario 64? You'd have thought the 3DS ports of Star Fox and OOT would be in good enough shape to easily port to the Switch but seemingly not. I'm sure a fairly simple Advance Wars port would sell well but....

Surely they will just port over WiiU virtual console at some point for SM64 et al?

I think they’d be understandably wary about choking the golden goose.

Fingers crossed for N64 virtual console but from Nintendo’s point of view it doesn’t make sense to release that yet.

NES is pretty much spent in terms of new releases - they’ll wring the SNES dry over the course of perhaps two, maybe three more rounds of releases. It would make sense for an N64 app to appear after all that - maybe in 2021 during the Switch’s middle age, to inject a bit more interest and buzz into what could be a period where momentum begins to slow.

I didn’t own a Wii U but assume it’s the same style of service as the Wii equivalent?

I don’t see Nintendo going down that route. They’ve used the NES and SNES apps as carrots to encourage uptake of the online service, which is a great source of revenue for the company, I don’t think they’ll deviate from that model.

Yeah I guess you’re probably right . To be fair more retro Nintendo stuff Behind the online paywall would suit me just fine .

It looks regular price to me, but well worth getting. Significantly quieter.

@deKay, the Switch version of The Outer Worlds is getting a physical release now.

Is this the amazing sounding majoras mask style one, or the other one?

Question for those who’ve had both the original switch and the V2 model with the updates longer lasting battery.

Is it a good noticeable difference? What extra would you say it gives you?

My original model is getting quite battered now and if it gives a good improvement I might be able to justify upgrading.

I've had both and it is a good noticeable difference, double the capacity of the V1

In terms of justifying the upgrade ... I think that would depend on how battered your V1 is and  if you play in handheld mode most of the time to benefit from the better battery.

You could ‘misplace’ your original
