What’s the best Harvest Moon/Stardew Valley style game for the Switch? Aside from those (the former is shit, the latter I’ve got).

My Time at Portia? Little Dragon’s Cafe? The new Story of Seasons with Doraemon?

Doraemon by a country mile.

My Tesco is out of LM3, Spyro reignited, NSMBd, and SMK8d

while Mario maker 2, Mario party and legs go pikachu are included in the offer...

SSBud is not in the deal, nor is BotW.

No, and I had a VERY grumpy staff member somehow spend 10 minutes figuring that out, who then doubled down on her grumpiness when I had the temerity to ask her if I could buy Yoshi instead, which meant having to go back into the stock room to get another box.

There must be so many carpet baggers hoovering up the cheap games at Tesco, ruining it for the rest of us.

Are you using 'carpet bagger' ironically in that sentence, or have you just got mixed up with some other term?

BotW is in the deal, AND they have it in stock... but it’s the only one they have in stock

They put the display cases back despite not having stock

No, apart from Stardew. LDC is a bit like Wada's other game, Hometown Story: nice idea, but barren and basic upon release. Portia is the closest contender as it's rather compulsive with the crafting etc, but the characters are crap and the writing is outsourced half to early access fans, which means nobody is anybody. Last time I looked there was a whole character based around a McDonalds pun. It's also curiously sterile/disparate (for the genre). Doraemon is utterly beautiful in look and is pretty much a return to the old Harvest Moon games in feel and atmosphere. I don't even know what Doraemon as a franchise is so the game really surprised me. Get the free demo played - and note you can turn off the repetitive anime grunts off when farming in the full game.

I like LDC, it definitely needed a bigger budget behind it, it’s very limited. But cute as, a title worth dipping into. Can be picked up cheaply too. Never heard of this Doraemon game, did it get a UK release?

I fancy getting a Picross game for when i don't have the energy for something more active.  Which Picross Switch game would you recommend?

All of them.

S and S2 are the gold standard, but get PictoQuest for something a little different.

Physical and digital in Europe, digital only in US.

Every first party WiiU game has found its way to the Switch, which is expected as for most they are entirely new games so there was no point in making a new Smash Bros, Mario Kart, New Mario Bros etc when perfectly good versions existed that could be repackaged. But why is there no sign of Super Mario 3D world? It’s the only WiiU game I wanted to play and have previously thought it would only be a matter of time. But still no sign, even that Toad game got a Switch release, Nintendo being Nintendo I’m half expecting it to never happen.
