I did not. Previously the update has always prompted it though, this time it didn't so I didn't even consider there'd be an update. I'll try it later, ta.

Just remember that you can update joy-cons over bluetooth - but the pro-controller needs to be physically plugged into the dock via USB in order to update it.,

That fills me with confidence! Spend £55 on a controller that has a deKay/10 chance it works properly or take it apart and fix it myself with sellotape.

The Joycon ‘dpad’ buttons are best for Tetris anyway.

I generally regard the Joycons as being better than the Pro all round, but I am finding it very pleasant to use with Hotline Miami.

Speaking of cards this looks a good deal.

256gb for £22.

Do you still have to worry about read/write speeds with cards these days? No idea on that stuff.

eBay so make sure it’s REALLY from MyMemory.

I think the Switch itself is the load time bottleneck. These 80-100MB/s cards will likely all be virtually identical in a Switch, anything faster it won’t make use of.

Was it easy to put back together again?

The only tricky bit is getting the ribbon cable back in. You just need to be careful as it's a bit delicate. That took me a few minutes and a bit of sweat! Also make sure you don't lose the screws! Note you need a specific screwdriver size, which is 00 Phillips, I think. All up it took me half an hour and I was being super careful throughout. Well worth it though.

i got myself one of those Hori handheld only left joycons with the dpad for stuff like Tetris, River City Girls and the retro stuff. The dpad feels nice. The minus button is pretty bad for some reason though.

Great for Tetris 99 and I can dash much easier in RCGs

Starting playing Super Metroid for basically the first time ever. Already stuck.

Am at a bit where the only way I can see to progress is a passageway that has two doors that close. I can run through before the first one closes but can’t reach the second in time. I then have to lay a bomb to break the floor to return to try again.

I have 2 types of missiles, high jump, ball, charge shot. What obvious thing am I missing?

I'm stuck in Super Metroid! @Cyhwuhx Is it possible to fuck up your progress by sequence breaking? I used a few timed bombs to bounce my way up through a little gap in a room in Norfair which I'm not sure I was supposed to do, and proceeded to get the speed booster. Eventually I made my way to an elevator that leads from Maridia to Crateria, but at the top of the elevator my path is now blocked by a yellow door (don't have a weapon for opening this) and when I make my way back down to the room I came from in Maridia, the door I originally came through is still yellow. The only other path is blocked by a power-bombable floor, and I don't have power bombs.

You can't get through this until you have a certain item that lets you run faster (I think).

We should find out what that weird plastic new peripheral thing is all about today. I'm guessing sex toy.

I'm really excited to see what it is. I reckon it's a horror game where you've got to grip Kirby by the lips to stop him sucking you in.
