Is the home button what you're meant to press to turn it on in the dock? I always dock it then use the power button. The only time that does not work is when I have not turned it on at the plug socket. It usually automatically puts my TV on the right HDMI channel.

There's no way to organise games on the switch into folders or anything, like on PS4 is there?

Folders came to the 3DS in an update. There's such a huge number of titles on the Switch already (with more to come) I can't imagine they're not due.

its not a fake. The raspberry pi image uses most of the space as a Linux partition. OS X and windows will not see this, only the small fat32 partition for boot config. 

 

Download the sd card formatter tool from the sd association website.

Happy to help. It’s annoying that none of the built in OS tools can seem to fix this once you’ve written a raspi image to a card.

The home button on the Pro Controller. But it seems temperamental. I’m not even sure if it’s the way you’re supposed to do it.

Updated my Switch to system v9 this afternoon and now neither of my left joycon want to stay connected. Never, ever had a problem with them (I know it was relatively common at launch) from day one, and for two hours yesterday my grey set were fine. Tonight, it wouldn't stay connected for more and a few seconds, so swapped to my coloured pair and although that was better in about an hour's play it disconnected about ten times.

 

Anyone else noticed a change?

 

(Note: I have not bought an L shaped sofa in the last 24 hours)

This would be useful, but I doubt it'll be possible: if you could use a Switch Lite as a controller for a normal Switch.

The Switch has made me suffer from the worst analysis paralysis in decades. By having so many options, and ridiculous built in faults I have dedicated far too much effort already into minutiae:

 

- No screen protector but applied felt strips from eBay to the front inside ridges

- Bought a USBC charger and cable after a ridiculous amount of research because I haven't kept up with the last 5 years of tech and thought I could buy something from Poundland

- Still haven't 100% decided on the pad to play in docked mode but leaning towards 8bitdo stick + PS4 pad because I already know that it will do everything I need (unlike the Pro controller). Caveats are no good for tabletop mode so probably need another compact controller at some point, possibly M30.

- Bought a case but still haven't decided if I want a stand (want one to let me setup vertically ideally) and a power bank.

 

I am hoping I can forget about all this pointless stuff now and enjoy the fact that I have a new console without the ridiculous choice paralysis I have elsewhere.

What will a PS4 pad in docked mode do that a pro controller won’t? Considering the amiibo nfc and hd rumble in the pro are proprietary.

Decent and responsive D-Pad. I'm never using an amiibo. HD rumble is pretty nice but not essential.

Apparently*, there's an LED around the home button on the right joycon, which firmware 9 enables access to? I've never noticed until now, but there is a clear ring around it.

Have you updated your controllers in the settings menu as well?

I did not. Previously the update has always prompted it though, this time it didn't so I didn't even consider there'd be an update. I'll try it later, ta.

I thought the dpad on the pro controllers was sorted in the newer models and it was only early pads where the diagonal problem was prevelant?

The “old” one is fine too. No diagonal issues and I’d definitely use it in preference to a PS4 dpad.

 

I’ve played every game that uses digital control almost exclusively with it, never had a problem and it works great.

I'll have to try it out again on some SNES games. When I played Tetris 99 with it, it was utterly terrible. Never had a problem with the PS4 D-Pad.

Seems to be quite a divisive thing - mine is absolute shite. Easy way to test is to go to Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Test Input Devices then hold down left on the d-pad and wiggle your thumb back and forth a tiny bit. I get up and down inputs despite only ever actually touching left. Makes the thing absolutely useless for playing Tetris.

Really quite enjoying Daemon Ex Machina demo. The characters are really annoying though but I think moving to Japanese voice acting would help. Combat is fun and fast. Significant resolution, frame rate and control improvements since the last demo.

No it really does have issues. When they have to patch in an option to Tetris 99 to address the fact that it pushes the wrong direction sometimes, and the fact that some people have taken their pads apart to fix it, there is an issue.

Yeah I've kinda given up on my pro pad, i need to send it to nintendo really but the DS4 works great with most games especially ones that use the dpad.
