I doubt it'll be using the new chip, the old one would fit with what Emily Rogers said - more powerful than Wii U, quite a bit less than Xbox One.

If it's got a decent screen in it that'd make it expensive enough already, they're not going to be doing that and high power.

Begs the question though, why the delay? Could be software, could be the newer chip.

I honestly don't give a fuck what the NX will turn out to be, as long as it plays Nintendo games Metroid V Metroid Prime 4 designed while Miyamoto is locked up in a chamber at the other side of the globe and will sell decently.

Come on you know what he meant. It's not a traditional Zelda.

Neither was Zelda II. Or 4 Swords. Or Breath of the Wind. Or OOT at the time.

That's very generous. They've basically done the SNES controller, good, and the GameCube controller, great. Everything else has been massively flawed.

NES: Better than rivals, but not particularly interesting.

SNES: Good, although simple.

N64: Weird. Almost good, but actually a bit rubbish and broke constantly.

GameCube: Super amaze. Would be better with two proper analogue sticks and two bumpers, mind.

Wii: Bit shit, especially connecting everything to the remote. Pro controller a bit shit, but workable.

Wii U: Unbelievably appalling. Pro controller possibly the worst official controller ever and still better than the Gamepad.

Is Rev short for revisionist?

err what?

NES was huge everywhere appart from here it seems, massive step up from the Atari's etc

SNES was superb! Came out after the Megadrive but the MOde 7 stuff and audio chips blew EVERYTHING away, from memory the sprite stuff cause slow down (Super star wars iirc) but it looked amazin!

If they're holding back the release of this to enable use of the new Tegra chip, it's not going to be cheap is it? A handheld delivering PS4/X1 levels of power.

I'd imagine they'll use the current chip otherwise it's going to have a battery life of about 30 minutes isn't it?

It's not a very mobile chip if it launched to 30 minutes battery life.

I think this just about covers everything:

So mainline titles Zelda 2, BOOW or OOT are as much spin offs to the same degree as Koei Tecmo collaboration Hyrule (Destiny) Warriors?  Utter nonsense.

To me, yes. Until HYRULE WARRIORS all of the 3D Zelda games have been shit.

I created a mock-up based on the Eurogamer report yesterday. I quite like the idea of magnetic Wii-style controllers that attach to the screen portion, with the L, R and Z buttons as triggers on the back.

I think it'll have to be smaller than that, but it looks about right. Nintendo's WiiU prototype is actually a lot like that:

I swapped my Megadrive for a SNES purely on the grounds of a better D-pad for SFII Turbo.

That and it had the correct number of buttons for SFII (the 6 button controller notwithstanding - which I recall being really hard to find). Also it looked better on the SNES.
