I suppose there’s nothing on there that isn’t an exclusive, other than Mario tennis which turned out to be...well, not shit bit too frustrating to set the world on fire.

Already posted it in the main thread but I can’t get over how good Okami HD looks.

It's...frightening...how many I have bought off that list.

He missed off about fifteen more.

Bad luck, debaser, mate. You must hate video games even more than me.

I love games. But this is how I would categorise that entire list:

Games I have bought which are good which are platform exclusive:

Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion (but not actually a game)

Games which I have bought which aren't video games but just folding bits of cardboard together:

Nintendo Labo

Games which I have bought which were entertaining for about 30 minutes, but less appealing than Splatoon 2 online:

Celeste

SteamWorld Dig

Hollow Knight

Games which I haven't bought but which I know will be entertaining for about 30 minutes, but less appealing than Splatoon 2 online:

Runner 3

Pixeljunk Monsters 2

Yoku's Island Express

SteamWorld Heist

Dragon Quest Builders

Enter the Gungeon

Games which I tried demos of which were terrible:

Octopath Traveller

Kirby Star Allies

Mario Tennis

Games which I might buy if I didn't already have them:

Doom

Bayonetta

Bayonetta 2

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary - I don't own this but have various versions of 2, 4 and 5.

Gorogoa

Captain Toad

Games which I don't have the patience for:

Xenoblade 2

Games which I have played on previous platforms which I don't like:

Skyrim

LA Noire

Rime

South Park: Fractured But Hole

Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze

Woolfenstein II

Fortnite

HYRULE WARRIORS

Games which I have never heard of but which have terrible names:

Lumo

Vostok Inc

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse

Rogue Aces

Shantae Half-Genie Hero

Banna Saga

Bloodstained Curse of the Moon

This year is interesting. In 2017 I was using my Switch for all the amazing first party stuff, while in 2018 so far it's been all about the indies. It's basically become a Vita+ for me! Everything I wanted the Vita to be! I was a bit 'ho hum' about what I initially perceived as being a software drought, but it's amazing indie overload at the moment. Devs are clearly loving the sales they can get on the machine (it makes more sense to me to be buying them on Switch than PS4/Xbox), let's just hope that the market doesn't become so overcrowded that a lot of games end up not finding an audience due to bad discoverability.

I must admit there is an awful lot of tat on the store as well which has just put me off using it sadly. I might browse youtube every now and again for the top indie titles but I haven't bought many.

My current games to play are (already bought) -

To finish Lost Sphear

Shining Resonance Refrain

Octopath

Then I will most definitely be picking up Pokemon for christmas (i'm dropping the hints for the wife).

There's also the following games I want though how i'm going to afford them i'm not sure -

Mario Party

Super smash bros

Starlink battle for Atlas

Valkyria Chronicles 4

In addition there are plenty of games I still want that I haven't picked up i.e. Overcooked 2, Donkey kong & Fire emblem warriors.

It's certainly one of my favourite consoles to date and doesn't really show signs of slowing down just yet.

Quick heads up:

Paladins (excellent F2P Overwatch-style hero shooter) has all characters unlocked from today until Sunday. Well worth jumping in if you haven't tried it yet.

Dragonball FighterZ has an open beta this weekend, too. I don't know if the demo is only available on the US eShop but that's where I got it yesterday.

I found Paladins really hard to control on the switch controller with the limited travel. I imagine it's easier on the Pro though.

Checkout the settings. It's very configurable. I needed to do some tweaks before joycons became ok for me.

Is there a set of joycons that prioritise comfort over being able to use them as separate controllers? The official ones really inhibit my enjoyment of using it in portable mode.

No, but perhaps a grip for portable use will help?

I've got this one (on a recommendation here) and it feels a lot more comfortable (and more comfortable than the previous grip I bought):

Tenner.

Agreed, the Switch has realised the promise that the Vita showed - an amazing selection of indie games that Sony's handheld did also have in an abundance, plus Nintendo's stellar first party titles and the ability to play all of these on the big screen or on the go. Vita + PSTV threatened to do this but Sony seemed to have little interest in making it work, unfortunately.

Probably not what you are looking for but we might be getting some third party joy cons with an actual d-pad.

Article starts by making a joke about Nintendo not doing it and then goes on to point out exactly why they didn't do it.

Next comes the long list of what this Hori one lacks...

Even if you are willing to forego the ability to detach and multiplayer with your joycons, lacking vibration and the gyro means that games, including Zelda, just won't play properly, making this a pretty pointless product imo.
