My PC's not even in the same room. Or on the same floor. I really can't think what it could be other than a fault with the console - I've been emailing Nintendo back and forth and they're now saying I should send it in again, although quite what they're going to find that they didn't uncover the first time I'm not sure.

I haven't. Does this involve opening them up and fiddling around with the insides? Not sure I'm confident enough to try that myself...

Maybe I should just use it as a handheld. It works fine as a handheld.

I don't mean this to come across as flippant but the Pro Controller will solve your problem, albeit for fifty quid. My left Joycon was also a bit shit but I got the Pro Controller day one and I've barely bothered using the split Joycons. If I have a mate over I'll stick them in that grip and they're usually OK as long as I'm sitting nearest to the Switch but that option is like a 4/10 relative to the 9.5/10 of the Pro Controller.

Your other option is to send them back for repair (unless you've already done that and I missed the post).

@ moss If you decide to try the foam fix yourself I e got some of the foam left from when I fixed my own.

Let me know your address and I'll send you a small piece.

Goes for anyone else too. Pay for postage and I'll send the foam. I've probably got enough for about 25 - 30 fixes! Was the smallest piece they did.

Do you know anyone else with one that might let you try their controllers?

Not really, although I have two sets of joy-cons and they both have the same issue, so I think it's more likely something to do with the Switch itself or interference in my flat, unless I got really unlucky with the controllers I bought.

Thanks, appreciate the offer - I think I'm more likely to send them back to Nintendo to have another look at, but will let you know if I change my mind.

Have you tried resetting it back to factory settings, putting the switch back to how it was when it came out of the box?

Honestly, man, the foam fix is easily done and worked wonders for me. I'd really consider it if Nintendo are no use (which is likely).

Thought about talking the Switch somewhere else (e.g. work, outside) and seeing if the same problems happen? Would rule out interference in your flat.

As you’re in a flat, your neighbors are probably pissing out seven shades of 2.4Ghz noise - wifi, Bluetooth, baby monitors, sky senders, etc - to the point where it barely matters what you do. It was bad enough when I lived in a terraced house.

Really enjoying Bomb Chicken. It reminds me of the kind of action-puzzle platformers you might get on the Amiga, though the visuals give me GBA vibes.

Played maybe an hour and I've died a bit, but it's not mega difficult or anything so far.

Is there any way to do that without losing my save games?

Non-googlefucked version of that link:

https://gizmodo.com/you-can-now-use-wireless-headphones-with-your-nintendo-1827572138

Spoiler: it requires a dongle, which you could do at launch anyway!

And of course you can’t charge the console while using that, which means that @Pixelbark can have something else to complain about.

I never played Captain Toad on the Wii U besides the 3D World levels. Just played the demo and it seems like a smashing little game. Not sure if I can stump up full whack, though. I'll have a look at it if and when it pops up in a sale.

Fair enough, but I mean I'm not paying the current price for it. I've got too much other great stuff on the go at the moment.

Edit: That was to Craig.

Yeah, I'm full Bobby Digital so thirty five quid. A tad steep at the mo.

This has undoubtedly come up before but do they have a reason for disabling Bluetooth earphones? I can connect 6 separate controllers to mine (and it can handle 8) so surely an audio stream can’t be that hard

There must be some reason - most likely the same reason that even the PS4 requires a dongle to do it (which is handy because it means the PS4 headphones work on Switch).

I bought a castlevania game at the weekend, Bloodborn Curse of the Shiny Apple or something.  Anyway it's actually quite good and quite looking forward to going back to it, seems to be a good lead in for the Kickstarter. Though I do wonder how many people would have preferred them to just do a big game like this rather than all the fancy stylings.

Been playing Castlevania SOTN properly over the last few weeks and I'm having loads of fun with it. Don't usually play these sort of games but heard so many good things I had to go back. Again could have made a better game for a KS, modern and up to date design perhaps but with less fancy graphics.

*raises hand*

Actually, a GBA/DS graphic level metroidvania would be perfect.

I picked up Wolfenstein over the weekend. Looks lovely and all that, but how in zezus butt do you select a different save slot/alter difficulty/manual save etc? The options are all there but you can’t move over to any of them using and button or touch screen?!
