Apparently in the PC version you click and drag potions into your potion slots. There is no mouse cursor or touch screen comparability on the Switch version to do this. I really think they've forgotten to implement this when they've ported it over, meaning you literally cannot healing during combat, only afterwards. It seems improbable that I'm the first person on the internet to notice this, however.

Is it usual for the online manuals for games to be totally woeful and just plain wrong?

Playing Shining Resonance Refrain, and had to go to the manual to look up some battle controls since the in-game tutorial leaves out things like how to dash or block, and the controls in the manual are totally rubbish. It has one button listed twice, one after another, as having a totally different function, and one other on the page which is totally wrong too. Presumably no-one checks these kind of things?

I've not played the Switch version, but every other version I've tried confirms that it controls perfectly with cursor or touch screen control, but awfully with joypad controls, alas. Which does (presumably) make the portable Switch version a good choice, but TV play less so.

Whoah, thanks! Not in stock anywhere in travelling distance or for delivery, sadly.

Great tip though – looks like the Hori pad that I have for my PC Engine.

£16.97 on Amazon

I don't think it works with the Switch though (Wii/SNES Mini connector for the wireless adapter)

I hear Money Puzzle Exchanger is good too.

A few years back when I went to an arcade in London this was massive! (well at least a group of 5 rotating in the one arcade for most of the day!) had not seen it before then actually... I'm interested!

Ah, thanks, but that seems to be Wii U/SNES Mini controller, even though it would be good for that purpose. Was after the 8bitdo controller (Super Famicom/PAL Super NES style) but can’t find anywhere that stocks them.

Finished Picross S. Pretty damn good value for money.

The only way to play, of course.

Shame pictures repeat in both modes, mind. It's 300 puzzles, but certainly not pictures.

Grats though!

I did mention that. :P It's the same as the one on Argos.

Amazon and Funstock have got the SNES-like 8bitdo controller for sale. Alternatively you can get the NES styled (but SNES layout) one free with a Retro Gamer subscription. https://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/8BITDO/#print

Thanks. Might very well consider the RG sub, even though it’s not supplying the exact controller I’m after. :) Tried Amazon, too many Chinese sellers selling (presumably) fakes, don’t really trust Amazon.

DeKay is better than me at Picross.

I did only play one of the 3DS ones before this and sometimes half played while watching tv, if that helps?

I didn't mean it as a brag, just amazed someone could spend more than twice as long as me on it!

Holy shit the controls for Darkest Dungeon are awful. Are they this bad on other platforms too?

Yup. You’ll get used to it, but there are some dubious choices in there and a problematic mixup between sticks and d-pad.

Alternatively, go portable and use the touchscreen instead.

How do I see the time spent playing certain titles?

Just go to your profile and it lists the games you’ve played and how long. It gives you to the closest 5 hrs.

You can also also see how long your friends have played their games by clicking on their profiles (GDPR breach surely). Check out how long some cunts have played Zelda for, it will shock you.

Did you get to the bottom of this? I've had my eye on Lone Wolf for a while.

Anyone know how to connect to a wifi that needs a sign in - i.e a hotel?

Assuming it works like the PS4, have you tried-

Connect to the wifi

Open a browser (does the Switch have one?)

It will then go automatically to the landing page
