I played Fallout Shelter a lot on the iPad. It’s essentially a load of old shite, but you will certainly get enjoyment from it for however long  it takes until you realise it’s wasting your precious human life away.

My SD card has run out of space - I need a bigger one but don't want to be swappig cards in and out... is it easy to get games off of my existing SD card and onto a new one?

No. You can't do it. You just have to stick the new card in and download everything again as you want it (I think the icons stay, it'll just download if you select a game that's not there already). Save data is all on the console itself, so you don't lose any of that.

If you want to be very formal about it, archive everything first then insert the new card and go from there.

Has it changed in an update? You could copy the data from the old card on to a PC and then copy it from the PC to the new SD card.

People with small SD cards were archiving them on their PC hard drives to save having to re-download them on rubbish connections.

I’m sure I didn’t dream this. :blah:

That's about merging more than one card, not about moving from one card to another, which you can still do.

No you can't. To quote from that page:

downloaded software data can't be transferred to another microSD card using a computer. In order to save software data to a different microSD card, you'll have to insert that microSD card into the console and then redownload the data from Nintendo eShop.

If I wanted to have the best shot of getting a game (Mario Tennis) the day before release, am I right in thinking that simplygames or shopto are the best options?  Any view on which is the best to go for?

I'm off to France for the weekend leaving early on the Friday (release day) and would love to have the game with me to play on the plane (strong preference for physical, so pre-loading the digital version is not an option)

Thanks!

Then that's a really new thing. I transferred from a temporary 8GB card to my new 128GB card about two months ago.

Must have come in with the 5.1.0 update on May 31st. It's not in the release notes though!

Any software that cannot be read on the system using the new microSD card can simply be redownloaded from the Nintendo eShop.

I mean it's worth a try to just copy it all over - but I'd say the signs point toward it not working.

I'll try it later. I've about 12GB I can move to a 16GB card.
