OK, well, much to my surprise, using the wrist strap attachments has resolved my connectivity issues. Do they act as additional antennae or something? Anyway, problem solved, it would seem.

As a F2P it's not too bad, but quickly got bored of Paladins on Xbox. Sure I'll give a go at least on Switch.

Naked joycons all the way! Interesting about the signal being better with the attachments, though. Could be that gripping them tightly attenuates the signal, and the extra breathing space provided by the pointless bumpers reduces this issue.

 

I seem to recall Apple’s solution for the iPhone Death Grip was to give people a free, non-conductive case.

Anybody else started playing Pokemon Go in anticipation of Let's Go? I live in the only part of the UK with 0 phone signal so I can occasionally catch one in my living room

Wizard of Legend (spellcasting roguelike, see very recent thread)

Danmaku Unlimited 3 (gorgeous bullet hell shmup)

Ikaruga (Ikaruga)

Steamworld Dig 2 (charming, addictive platforming exploration)

The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth Plus (my GOTY17, I've played 300hrs, immense)

Steredenn Binary Stars (roguelike side scrolling shmup)

Flinthook (err, roguelike platforming, cool art style) 

Enter the Gungeon (yep, roguelike, now in twin stick shooter form)

everything on switch is an eShop game once you buy a big card and decide to go all digital, which is the only sane choice IMHO

 

any top 10 list that doesn't have Rocket League on it is incomplete.

I'd also massively recommend the side scrolling Neo Geo brawler, Sengoku 3. Anyone wasting money on that Raging Justice shite should have just bought this. The best example of the form.

 

And for 2D sprite fighting games, Garou: MOTW and The Last Blade are absolutely stunning, both visually and to play.

Don't go digital, retail games are expensive, you can't just setup your account on another machine and download your titles onto it and it's a massive headache if it breaks or gets stolen.

 

You're just doubling down on potential losses.
