I'm going based on the PS4 version.

But there's a 2 button mode and it's very easy to just play friendlies at a given difficulty mode.  If you know how to pass...ever, you'll be able to win matches on the bottom one.

You *can* set a formation, but it's very not something you need to touch, you don't need to do any manager things (because friendlies) and boots is not even a thing Fifa knows about.

You sound very much like me.  I pretty much never play football, I couldn't tell you what a driven pass was compared to a non-driven pass, I have no idea who half the teams in the Premier League are.  I find FIFA a fun game to play, with difficulty down at the amateur or semi-pro level, and ignoring most buttons other than sprint (ZR), pass (B), shoot (A), and lob or cross (Y).  When defending, A is tackle and Y is slide.  It's worth getting.

Thanks, I went for it, and it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Did my usual of picking a very good but not the best team (Poland in this case) and started a World Cup.  The little button prompts by your selected player are really handy at first, especially with different types of shot.  I left everything at default (which I think is the 2nd lowest difficulty - amateur) and it's perhaps slightly too easy, but as I learn how it handles, I'm happy, and enjoyed a few matches last night.  I can see why passes are being intercepted, and it's interesting to back off and allow my team to reform, attacking down the other wing etc. though shots seem a slightly random with regard to direction (wide of the post seems pretty common).  Anyway, we're not here to talk about Fifa, so, ummmm...

As for Rocket League.. I already have it on ps4, and I don't play it much, in part due to it being on ps4, but mainly as I just don't play much online.

Fifa seems a better choice for single player and occasional local 2 player.

If you're not using your gold coins for eShop savings, they have updated the WiiU / 3DS titles available at some point.

I picked up Steamworld Dig for my 3DS for 90 Gold Coins.

They also have Star Wars Pinball for 70.

Runbow Pocket to 150.

and WiiU Teslagrad for 150.

Nintendo have stated they will only be showing 2018 games in their E3 video, they have already announced what most people assume are their key software drivers for the year

It's literally days before E3. Regardless of what they have said so far - anyone that thinks they are not going to be showing something new at some point at E3 is nuts (or being willfully daft). Also, they've announced both Smash Bros and Pokemon for 2018. It's not like they've come forward with just Mavis Beacon Teaches Touch-Screen Typing and a Lawbreakers port. They've got two of the biggest franchises in gaming on the way*.

* I say biggest, but in all honestly both leave me a little cold. Doubt I'll be buying either. Fingers crossed that Star Fox 'Grand Prix' thing is decent, and Metroid Prime 4 pops up looking fabulous. Oh, and Wave Race.

Is the Switch powerful enough to emulate the Gamecube? I thought Dolphin required a decent CPU to emulate the PowerPC architecture, and the Switch is rather slow in that aspect.

That's not how backwards compatibility works.

I’ve always wanted them. Lapped up the photoshops. Hold a joycon up to a GC controller though, and you’ll see just how much width and bulk they’d need to retain the button layout uncompromised.

If the Switch wants to play Gamecube games, they either need porting from source code (unlikely) or run through a proprietary emulator developed by Nintendo, since the ARM architecture of the Switch is completely different to the PowerPC used in Gamecube/Wii/Wii U.

Exactly. You implied they would 'brute force it', which would never work. I don't think the X even does that on original Xbox games but correct me if I'm wrong.

The nvidia shield runs Wii games in China. It's probable that it's emulated or the games have been ported. Besides you can run dolphin on shield. It works quite well (not perfect mind you).

My Orzly grip case came first thing, I'm not going to lie, I was tempted to come straight on here and call it a flimsy peice of shit, but decided to give it a go and I'm glad I did, I've just had a good few hours on Zelda and it feels MUCH more comfortable than holding the Switch in your hands, it feels much more natural and more like holding a controller than a tablet. If I could have one minor con it would be the L and R bumpers can be tricky for games that require them split second.

Pros -

Only £9 (Amazon).

Makes Handheld play much more comfortable.

Easy to get on and off.

Cons -

L and R can be a bit tricky with fast paced games.

Can't be docked with it on.

Overall - Couldn't be without it now, if you play alot in Handheld mode buy one.

You really should just read the article on Bloomberg, it covers most of the theories at to why the price has dropped on very large volume, including the games pipeline angle. Anything new coming at E3 is unlikely to move the needle is what the assumption is, hence some people who have held shares in the company might have decided to cash in and put their money to work elsewhere instead, as that is how share prices work, it's just supply and demand at the end of the day.

Rumors that the world’s most popular game, Fortnite, will be unveiled for the Switch at E3 have already been digested by the market, analysts said. With Pokemon announced last week and the highly-anticipated Super Smash Bros. sequel already confirmed in March, that left investors anticipating Nintendo would not have additional news for its E3 broadcast next week.

"The market is probably selling shares ahead of E3 because people are concerned Nintendo doesn’t have a pipeline that will wow investors to a point where analysts will have to raise earnings targets again,” said Amir Anvarzadeh, a senior strategist at Asymmetric Advisors in Singapore, who said he got three calls from investors about Nintendo this morning. "The other question is whether their network infrastructure is really ready to cater to online gaming."

You should read your own posts:

So I ask again: Do you honestly believe that? Do you think everything Nintendo is going to show has already been seen?

If any of the analysts or 'experts' do, I'd respectfully suggest they need to find new jobs.

I can answer that question - yes it can. And it has done already for MK8, Splatoon 2, Doom, Rocket League etc etc

If you actually read the words in that article, you wouldn't have replied in that way as it clearly states the reasonings, and I do clearly remember my own posts thank you very much :)

I know SOP on the internet when defending your worldview is to just cherry pick sentences and reply as such, rather than read the rest of the wording which gives context to such sentences, but come on, isn't rllmuk supposedly so superior to other forums when it comes to actual discussion?...

Yours appears to be to avoid answering direct questions, in favour of just repeating the same daft thing over again in a slightly more condescending tone.
