I've also got a difficult to open kick stand, like really solidly shut, it takes me a knife to get it open, the recesses are too small to prize open with my fingers. I ask my Mrs to do it as shes a nail technician with nails like fucking concrete

Weird, mine is so loose it falls open on it's own when I'm holding the Switch.

Same, I just looked and can’t see anything broken and afaik it’s always been like it - I suspect newer models have a revised design.

Got this today, doesn’t have the grunt to play and charge :/ sending back and will get a different one tomorrow.

I can only assume you have a faulty one then.  Mine's done London - LA.

Must be, I’m sending it back and will pick up something in SF. Shame,  I had looked forward to all day DOOM.

Does anyone have the Skull and Co Gripcase for the Switch at all ?  Really tempted to get it as I've heard really good things about it and for my hands I really need something like it and I'm hoping some of you fine folks here have one.  I really like portable mode but I get uncomfortable very quickly with these big hands of mine so I definitely need something along these lines (like I did for Vita etc)

I bought some replacement "Buckles" for my joycons so they won't slide off without pressing the release button now.

I got two pairs but need only one. Does anyone want the other pair and the screwdrivers to do the job for £3?

Anyone ordered from simplygames before?  Decent price.  Normally only order stuff from amazon but they haven't dropped the price for awhile.  Only downside to simply is they won't deliver to a work address until you order at least one item from them (which is fair enough).

I really like the look of this too, although the lack of any UK based sellers have put me off so far.

I've been using this and actually it improves things immensly and a very affordable cost

Countless orders down the years, typically get preorders to you before release date and usually competitive price wise.  Amazon and Simply are my preferred choice got UK releases.

GRIDD - multiplier score attack focus, looking good plus nostalgia points.

Looks like a cross between f-zero, wipeout, rez and tempest to me.

Thanks for the simply recs.  Looks like I may place a purchase next week (on holiday).  Looking at a switch, Mario, Hyrule Warriors to begin with I think.

Thanks for that :)

I've been eyeing up a few different types - there's the one you linked too, the Skull and Co Gripcase, the Meo (Skull and Co knockoff) though it apparently doesn't ship to UK as well as a 3D printed 'xbox controller' style one which you can either print yourself or buy from Etsys.

Sooo..... Fifa.

I hear there's a big footie tournament coming up, and Fifa on Switch is about 20 quid in a lot of places.

Now, I'm not really a football fan, I don't support any clubs, I approximately get the rules, and shout at the beautiful games complete lack of sensible technology when it comes to trusting a couple of guys with whistles and flags making decisions,  but every 4 years I don't mind watching the odd game, and following the tournament.

So, my question is...  Is Fifa filled with overly complex bloat that is likely to be offputing to n00bs like myself?  Or is there a horrendous learning curve?

I'm thinking I'd like to load up, kick a ball, pass, shoot, sometimes score, not be too concerned about formations, or managers, or what boots they are wearing.

As a little background, the football game I've played the most is either Mario Strikers or Sega Soccer Slam, and the last football game I played was Pro Evo 14 which was free on PS Plus - unless Rocket League counts ;)

My concern is Madden (obviously not on Switch).  I get NFL, I do support a team.  I understand (mostly) the rules, and get the strategy to a point.  I can't immediately read formations etc.  I was sucked right into the detail in Madden, I loved the tutorial mode, and what it taught me about the sport, but for me, the game was utterly unplayable with dropped passes, all too common interceptions, fumbles etc, presumably all because I couldn't immediately read the defence or my own players the would throw to the wrong player or whatever.. The frustration put me off..

Talking about Grip cases, I play all the time in Handheld mode and I do find it starts to get uncomfortable after a while.

My Switch is kept overnight in its Dock, I don't suppose any of the case will allow the Switch to still be kept in its Dock with it on? I can't be arsed to faff about taking it on and off all the time

I ordered the grip case dreamlittledream linked on Amazon last night. I struggle with my big hands and always have to play with it rested on a cushion thats on my lap and constantly having to readjust my grip. Prevents longer gaming sessions for me.

For £8.99 it's worth a try.
