Donkey Kong is by far the best option.

 

Rayman Legends is great.

 

Slime-San is a good blend of Celeste and Meat Boy.

 

The End Is Nigh is a slightly crapper version of Meat Boy by the same dude.

 

Shantae is a pretty tight Metroidy platformer thematically structured around anime tits.

 

Splasher is good, very Meat Boy but quite charming and with some unique twists.

 

Super Mario Bros Vs is Super Mario Bros.

I dont know where you are hearing that, but it has aged incredibly well IMO. Its over 25 years old and still wonderful. Buy it!

Don’t get your hopes up lads. Played it on the Wii and it was a bit shit. Just a load of shallow mini games. 

 

As for 2d platformer recommendations, I’d find it hard to recommend any on the Switch. Better off getting a WiiU and getting NSMB or that woolly Yoshi game.

Adventure Pals and Super Chariot are really fun for casual co-op with yer family btw.

What’s warioware got to do with anything? That has five second bursts of fun. This is a bit like Wii sports/play except shitter. 

 

Just pointing out that mini-games, per se, aren't necessarily crap. Plus you're @the_debaser and therefore automatically wrong about everything*. Sorry, but them's the breaks...

You know I have to give Activision some props if they do release CoD on the switch. At least they are willing to give it a go. EA could port some older Battlefield games to the switch (and it could play them well, lest we forget BF3 ran on the old consoles) and I'd be more than happy to buy them but EA couldn't give a shit.
