Nintendo Switch

Something I was wondering about overnight - do we think the cloud saves are being created anyway, but subscribing just gives you self-serve access to view/manage? Where I'm going with this - do we think that if you have to send a Switch back to Nintendo for repair, regardless of if you are an online member, might they have access to the saves and be able to restore them as part of any repair process?

Pen And Paper Game Announced For Switch

The Gift Ten Industry game previously announced for Nintendo Switch has the tentative name of Madolica and is due on the eShop in Summer 2018 priced at ¥1,500. The game is an escape game for up to four players, involving escaping from monsters in a mansion within a time limit. Players can either print off or purchase a floor plan from the website and use both pen and paper to plot escape!

What next, a game where you draw with chalk on the pavement.

I like the idea of that, be interesting to see how well it plays. I like that they are trying to again bring games away* from just holding a controller and looking at a screen. It may not work but it is different and could lead to some future ideas.

*as an option to what we already have and not a direct replacement.

Interesting that you can transfer your saved game from the 3DS version, glad I've kept certain 3DS games, mainly Pokemons incase transferring Pokemon to a Switch version is ever possible.

Also never played a Monster Hunter so looking forward to this

Stories is more of a spin off, more JRPG with an element of Pokemon mixed in. It’s really good but not real Monster Hunter.

Ah okay, so this is the one I want, cheers.

Not confident enough to do a conference again though!

Most conferences are shite though. I prefer directs TBH. Just shows you the games and maybe someone talking about them, not some bell end z list celebs talking of an auto cue and attempting to appeal to teenagers.

Maybe so, but 'confidence' is not something Nintendo have been oozing for the last few E3s. And who doesn't love a bit of E3 conference nonsense? Hoping to see Nintendo get some of that mojo back now the Switch is doing so well.

Their Directs are the opposite of the E3 corporate cringeworthy spin.

We might enjoy that crap for the sheer sport and piss taking but it certainly doesn't portray confidence to me wheeling out (literally) a car to get a few whoops from the shit munchers.

Confidence is the minimal spin of a Direct: Here's your fuckin games. Now go apeshit.

Yeah I enjoy the, err, direct approach Nintendo take. The Sony and MS ones go on too long imo and it's always a bit tit for tat.

I like all the treehouse stuff. The focus is always firmly on the games.

Yeah they didn't look confident when they have that massive fucking Zelda booth and people were running in each morning.

Haha. I love the fact that Switch was being worked on behind the scenes along with Arms, Mario etc. and yet they held back and just devoted the entire thing to BOTW. They knew what they had.

Just remembered all those YouTube creators and influencers stinking up the place last year... siUF7Oc.gif
