It'll be between 1-2 years before they overtake Xbox One, assuming both consoles carry on selling at their current rates.

Yeah took the comment out.. Realised that the XBO is at around 38M units... However like mentioned a few stellar Christmases I can really see it pulling in front.

Just love the way Nintendo keeps bouncing back after the industry commentators keep spouting doom and gloom for them.

They are the oldest company out of the three major console makers.. sure Nintendo will be around in one way or another for a long while yet... :) Personally I think the industry needs them and TBH do they even operate in the games industry as it is? Not sure they are even competing for the same market as MS and Sony anymore and haven't for a while now. They just make fun entertaining systems with broad appeal that happen to draw on current trends in technology. I mean how else can we explain the Wii, Wii Fit, Nintendo Labs and other things?! :)

Sorry to be 'that guy' but can I get a linky to a good Memory Card for the Switch - I know you lot will have snaffled out the best ones? I don't see my buying physical copies of Switch games going forward and, since downloading Bayonetta recently, space is starting to fill up (also hoping for a GameCube Virtual Console announcement at some point in the machines life)...

Which SD card should I buy?

Most folks on here are recommending this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-Exceria-128GB-Micro-Memory/dp/B01EAKAUUK/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics-accessories&ie=UTF8&qid=1488552128&sr=1-3&keywords=128gb+micro+sd

I don't think so - it's basically the gold coin stuff - you can use that to discount whatever you want....

Yeah, I remember the big annoucement for that.  But I was sure that not long afterwards, they announced that in May (IIRC?) they'd start putting older first party/launch third party Switch discounts up along with all the 3DS stuff and they'd get rid of the WiiU discounts?

What size were you after?  This is nearly half price right now:  http://www.picstop.co.uk/micro-sdxc/sandisk-ultra-micro-sdxc-memory-card-100mbs-class-10-for-android-128gb.html?source=awin&awc=580_1524764372_390c58dbd6bdf95f2fd82acb5885eb65

Korg gadget is out, £35. I bought it and it's bloody brilliant. Within 15 minutes I've got a banging tune and am dancing around my living room, worth every penny. Can't wait to try multiplayer. It's so intuitive!

@Jackson How is exporting handled?

apparently it pretty much isn't, which is a bit shit

https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/articles/360000676863-Can-I-export-songs-

They did build up the iOS one quite a lot from relatively humble beginnings so perhaps it could come later.

edit, haha I browsed the rest of the FAQ. It's all "Can I do [thing]?" "No." pretty much.

That's disappointing. As one commenter said this basically makes it a toy and not something you could use as part of production. Okay, so people didn't moan about DS-10 not doing it, but it's 2018, at the very least having a way to get WAV or MP3 off there is a basic feature. If Korg can add in proper export then that would be a vast improvement.

I guess the Switch is first and foremost a games console, whereas the iPad is better geared up for serious music production.

I can only assume Ninteno locking down SD cards stops Korg doing an easy export that way.

Hmmm, if only there was a way for people at home to get access to the SD card that Nintendo have locked out, off to the other Switch thread I go ;)  :P

No purchase of the Korg Gadget from me then. My Mac doesn’t have a line in, so no way to play any creations on anything other than the Switch. Unless there’s some obscure adapter or work around through the headphone jack?

Stupid decision by Detune/ Nintendo. Still, £35 saved.

I have never used any software like this before so nothing much to compare it to except Music 2000. The interface and controls are incredibly easy to use and there's a million options but on a basic level you can just press and twist things and its good!

Exporting doesn't bother me in the slightest but I can see why it's a big thing for others. My TV is already coming through a decent soundbar/subwoofer so it's all good. I'm going to play the hell out of the multiplayer.

In all honesty, I'd rather they just have said 'fuck the trend, we're good as we are' - kept it bare bones, but free. I'm having a blast playing Splatoon 2, MK8 etc online - it's working perfectly for me. It's not 'Nintendo online lol' it's 'Nintendo online works'. It's hardly ever down, it's simple, I just let the kids do what they want. I don't really need to talk to most of the folks I'm playing against. It's doing what I really need it to do, and I'd rather not add a load of 'features' I won't really use in return for having to pay.

Obviously there is some stuff that will be useful (invites for example), but I think overall I could soldier on and not be too bothered.

I completely agree.  I like the Nintendo way.  I'll play the odd game of MK8 online but I'll never pay for a subscription.  Well not for online play,  they might bundle something unmissable with it.
