Would the Japanese version of Mario Kart 8 on Switch be in English on my uk switch (would it even work) and would online be on eu servers?

Its on eBay for half the price of a uk copy.

I don't know for certain, but I can add that Switch physical games are definitely and totally region-free. I would place it as highly likely that you would be able to play the game in English on EU servers.

Just removed the switch from the dock to find that it hadn't charged the Joy-Con while in sleep mode. I'm hoping that after a hard reset and putting it back in the dock it'll sort it. :(

Anyone had similar? Anything I can try other than the reset?

Has anyone seen anywhere how you get your synth creations off the device? How could you even do that on the Switch? I can imagine you might be able to save to/export from the SD card to PC, but if they won’t let you do this with game saves (as it’s potentially a vector for hacking), that route seems unlikely.

And if I can’t convert my compositions into mp3 to share with people, then to me it’s DOA, whatever the price.

Headphone socket - same as the DS and 3DS Korg apps.

So you have to buy a separate cable not sold by Nintendo? And download a separate piece of software from a third party? None of this is mentioned on the game’s own site? Weird. All sounds very un-Nintendo.

Can anyone confirm how the warranty works with the Switch?

Possibly looking at getting a 2nd hand one which is a couple of months old. They can't provide a copy of the proof of purchase so I'm guessing there would not be any warranty of sorts, or is it provided on the serial number?

Cheers

Disappointed that Funky Kong seems to be contained to his own mode. My nephew always wanted to play co-op on the Wii U version, but the game was far too hard for him. This would have been a big help for him.

Fire off an email to Nintendo, you never know.

Prepare for custom firmware and homebrew on the Switch; exploit for the Tetra X1 hardware flaw: https://github.com/reswitched/fusee-launcher

Would be funny if the Switch has emulators via homebrew before they eventually release their Virtual Console service.

I don't understand all this stuff but how is a Tegra X1 the same as a Switch?

Sure, but the boot loader is what kicks off the OS, and I believe that's where the exploit is.

Ah ok. So this is why Nintendo are are looking at a hardware revision.

Does this mean any Switch owner can use it or just those who haven't updated the firmware?
