Why would you wish ill-fortune to their endeavour? I'd love a Switch emulator, some of the titles would look a lot better on decent hardware with anti-aliasing and higher resolution. And the Switch is a tricky platform for game preservation without a decent emulator, the handheld hardware and cartridges are not a good formula for longevity.

I know you're trolling as you always troll and I really shouldn't bite but playing games at a higher resolution isn't an argument for piracy, and I'm not sure you can start talking about preservation 13 months into a system's life.

Unless of course you plan to buy copies of the games alongside your emulated copy?

Emulation is complete unrelated to piracy.

You might argue its effect is negligible, which is arguable, but playing emulated games you don't own is piracy, playing BoTW on CEMU for example.

Not sure if you're talking about me personally, but I own BotW for the Wii U, along with other games I've played on Cemu.

You know that's not what I was implying I just used it as a current example. You're just avoiding the argument as per usual.

For digital only go for the biggest card you can afford. They're pricey though once you go above 128gb (£70 for 200gb £95 for 256gb) and prohibitively so for the 400gb one (£200+)

Alternatively I think you can just buy multiple smaller cards, although it's obviously not as convenient. You need to swap them out with the console off.

I'm on the verge of ordering a second 128GB card myself.

Does Cemu run the games direct from the disc?

It's not illegal to rip media you own into a different format for personal use.

You're changing the argument by trying to argue your legal right to back up games. That's something different.

Does this discussion really need to happen? Yeah, it's not technically legal to rip your music, dvds or play emulated games that you own - but I'd be surprised if anyone here would argue that it's immoral to play an emulated version of a game that you legitimately own. Even if they would, I still don't think it's a particularly interesting discussion to dredge up again.

That legislation is nonsense and failed to keep up with the digital era, let alone unenforceable.

Maybe this conversation could be had in it's own thread eh?

I think the time has finally come to buy a new Switch game.  So far I've played BOTW, which lasted me from launch to the release of Skyrim, and Skyrim.  I'm starting to get a little bored with Skyrim now, and think it's time for something new.  I'm probably going to get Dark Souls as my proper next game, so I need something that'll last about a month, playing a few hours a week.

Skyrim was the only reason I actually bought a Switch in the first place, and it's been amazing.  So what's good?  I need to be able to play it on the train, so no shake-the-controller stuff please.  I've not really kept up with news and releases, so I've no idea what's out at the moment. I remember being tempted to buy a game about a guy on a raft on a river at some point, but then I just played Skyrim instead.

Mario + Rabbids sounds like a good match. Cracking train gaming, about the right length.

This.

Mario & Rabbids is great, and would fit the criteria well.

There's also somebody flogging it for £25 in trading.....

Mario is great. I'm not really a fan of Mario games, (I suck at platformers) but this game still managed to fill me with glee and wonder.

I also suggest Golf Story because I think it's a great little game and the script is awesome, really had me laughing more than it should.

Can't say I'm surprised, the Dark Souls Switch port is handled by the Chinese studio Virtuos who botched Final Fantasy X/X2 HD. Let's hope they have improved.

They also did FFXII remake and LA Noire. Both of which were decent.

I'll wait for the Switch version. Portability is more important for me anyway.

Whatever you do, don't get Splatoon 2 .
