This wasn't an especially good run so maybe 20 minutes is on the cards after all. Seriously doubt that'll be the case for the archer though, I'm absolutely dreadful with her...

Alright Switchers, I’m off on holiday soon and fancy some new games for my Switch. I’m taking Mario, Zelda, Splatoon 2 & Mario Kart. What smaller games should I look at?

 

I think I’ll grab Neo Turf Masters as it’s a classic and l love golf games. What other Neo Geo titles are amazing? Not fighters but anything else.

 

I’ve got the Vostok and Kirby demos but I’ve yet to try them. I’m tempted by FIFA and Doom in the sale but I think I’d prefer them as physical so I could trade them after they’ve been played fully. I think I’m looking at cheaper, indies games basically.

But anyway the answer is Enter The Gungeon. Perfect "in-between" game.

Balls. My Switch won’t charge at all. Had it plugged in for a few hours and didn’t charge at all. Tried resetting (holding down the power button) but the unit is completely frozen. Tried multiple power outlets, but nothing will bring it back to life :(

So many games. Thanks for the suggestions all.

 

I have Sonic Mania already and the Metal Slugs are on my Vita. I think Golf Story is a good idea (Especially with the Masters this weekend), but do I need Turf Masters too considering I have Hot Shots Golf on the Vita as well?

Crypt of the Necrodancer is all I’ve played on the switch since buying it in the sale a week or ten days ago.

 

Highly recommended.

Neo Turf Masters was the first Neo Geo game I bought in Switch, and honestly it’s not a great golf game. I had loads of fun with Golf Story, and more recently been playing Butcher, Kamiko and Gungeon, all of which I’d recommend. 

If you like golf games I would say Golf Story is the one though. On my profile page it says 20+ hours so more than enough entertainment for a holiday.

@Junker  what?! Admittedly my love of Turf Masters is viewed with rose tinted retro gaming glasses but it’s still a great game to quickly pick up and play and it’s got some very tough holes which I still battle with.

 

Though I’m struggling to work out how to apply top spin and back spin now. :(

 

@KriessG what about the metal slug series? Still the most beautiful 2D game IMO and just brilliant execution. All four are great. Though many will argue that point!

Only have the one. Well, got a US power supply, but plugs in the flat are three pin. Plugged it in after another reset before I left for work this morning. Crossing fingers!

Get any USB C cable, plug it into your phone adapter and try that. I've used the one that came with my Samsung and I bought a couple of cables from Amazon. Works fine in the adapter and plugged into a power back for charging. Only used the official power supply with the Dock.

I'm buying a Switch today.

 

Should I grab an extra controller? Right now I'll probably only be on Mario, however I'd like to test out some multiplayer stuff also.
