I’m once again at the point of telling them to get stuffed. I think I’ll list the Switch for sale and get an Xbox One in its place. Great as it can be, I’ve never had as many issues with a console, Xbox 360 included.

You might find an issue with games on the Xbox ;)

Yeah, but at least I’ll actually be able to play what there is, and benefit from backwards compatibility otherwise.

Nintendo will have had my Switch or crucial accessories for about 12 weeks since launch by the time I get the Joycon back, during which time they’ve also managed to erase over 100 hours of saves.

Alternatives sure, equivalents is maybe stretching it for Mario kart, Mario odyssey, Zelda, Splatoon and probably Arms too though I dunno that one. And the whole playing on the go thing obv. Still, if it ain't working for someone, they might as well ditch it.

@Rain Birds I do feel for you, bud. It must be really really frustrating and make you lose confidence in the product and company but don't shoot half your face off to spite the remaining pieces of your face.

 

You're just bloody unlucky. I recently sold both a One S and One X and don't miss a single thing. I literally didn't play either for the last month I owned them, besides forcing myself to try to see value in them before selling. Some decent games but absolutely no reason to own one over a Switch, or a PS4.

They're all fighting games. Though Arms is more limited in it's moveset than most.

 

Only in the same way Parodius and Call of Duty are both shooters and Micro Machines and Euro Truck Simulator are both driving games, you loon.

Nobody is looking good in this discussion. I love my Switch but the X has fast become my favourite console this gen. It's compact, stupidly powerful, silent, and most of all it has incredibly impressive BC going back two generations, far superior versions of every single multiplatform title. Microsoft's current exclusives aren't interesting to me personally, but you know - most games are multiplatform. But I still love my Switch (currently obsessed with Xenoblade Chronicles 2) without needing it to be my favourite. Or without needing to say another console is laughable. Or that others are silly for not agreeing with me. PS4 is great too, God of War looks fucking amazing.

 

So if someone is fed up with Nintendo's objectively shit service (asking money for repairs under warranty? For what is a known issue at their end with the joycons? What exactly is warranty for if not faulty hardware! And wiping saves because they can't figure out what a cloud is? Come now) and decides to switch sides, fair enough. Sure he'll miss out on some of the best games this gen, but have a bit of sympathy for the frustration they're putting him through.
