The beautiful thing about the Hori joycon is that people who never felt the lack of d-pad was a problem can ignore it, and those of us who felt it was a big problem now have an optional solution. Everyone's happy.

Yeah it's great; stripping it of motion control/wireless keeps it relatively cheap too (plus it won't restrict handheld gyro stuff either since I'm sure those use the right JoyCon anyway). Hopefully it's the first of many useful alternatives.

Yeah I'm in for SWD 1 at that price. Blossom Tales is my pick of the bunch, only saving a couple of quid but I was going to buy it anyway.

I'd never heard of Blossom Tales until your post, what a lovely game. Thanks for the heads up

If this had wireless capability I'd be all over it (it'd be ideal for use with the wonky dog), but handheld mode only makes it a lot less appealing :(

I picked up Blossom Tales at the start of the month; waited to finish Golf Story before starting it. Heavily influenced by Link to the Past, which is my favourite game, it's pretty adorable so far. Less focused in its intro section than Zelda but I'm having fun exploring at the moment.

Well, it's more minimal than that.

You have a path which has 90 degree turns. You have to stay on the path or you die. As you follow the path, a robot voice talks at you mostly nonsensically. Sometimes the path splits. Or goes up and down. All the time, you're speeding up. Each corner adds 1% of the level complete. Get to 100% and you move on. Except I got stuck on 99% on level 2, twice, and I've no fucking idea any more. Also, there's giant hands and dead presidents and Ziggy Stardust in the sky.

Oh, and sometimes there are cubes to collect. And the colour palette keeps changing every few seconds.

Here's a video of the Android version:

FFS. Holding off buying Doom. I can’t seem to buy anything from SA store. No idea what is going on as my bank can’t even see a problem. Last time this happened the fraud team contacted me a few days later about it. Annoying.

Have you tried the Norwegian store?  Usually similar price to the SA one and occasionally cheaper.

Although as they are both Nintendo Europe stores and my cards work fine on both perplexing you are having these issues...

I bought it, and this happened to me too. Probably wouldn't recommend it, it's barely a game and the visual effects and story (up to the point I'm at) don't come close to making up for that.

I love how there's such difference between the things people are trying to decide between.

For me it's Axiom Verge in the sale or Celeste.

Celeste is one of my games of the year, I'd defo get it in the sale if you haven't already

Axiom Verge is brilliant. Everyone needs that if they haven't already played it.

THIS DOESN'T HELP

Football Manager Touch 2018 has been rated for Switch in Korea. For anyone who isn’t familiar with it, that’s not the mobile phone version, but the streamlined (mostly in terms of media & player interactions) version of the full game, also available on PC & Tablets.
