I was looking on the eshop the other day and I saw some game called (I think) We Are The Police, I watched a video on it and whilst it looked interesting, I couldn’t really tell what sort of a game it was. Anyone got it?

Well yeah, you're probably right that Epic is independent. DOTA2 is probably also technically an indie game? But regardless, Fortnite is massive at the moment, bigger than almost (if not every) non-indie AAA game out there. That means such a reveal sounds more like E3 megaton material to me. But who knows, I'm just going by my gut feeling.

No need to apologise! You don't even know if I'm right, I just post a lot :P

The only reason I can imagine it hasn't been announced yet (while it's already out to buy on flipping mobile(!)) is that it'll be an E3 'we're delighted to announced Fortnite will be available to play on your Switch from the end of this presentation' mega-bomb.

Dunno if this was mentioned in here yet:

https://www.polygon.com/2018/3/20/17144598/hyper-light-drifter-nintendo-switch-release-date

Never got round to playing it before, despite having it sat on various watch and wishlists across assorted accounts. As always, particularly with less-likely-to-be-performance-sapping titles, Switch would be the preferred format to finally play it on.

(In before somecunt points out that Hyper Light Drifter continually slowed down like fuck on PS4 or something).

Anyone played that Metropolis game? Looks interesting (not just because of boobs). Film noir puzzle quest?

Also just bought Sparkle 2 Evo: Definitely Not Flow Honest, mainly because it's about £1.20 and means I could preorder No Thing for 89p. I have no idea what that is but for 89p I'll buy pretty much any old shit and it looked unusual.

If you have Sparkle 2, 3, either Frederick game or a couple of other titles you could get No Thing for 89p too and join me on Thursday when we say What The Actual Fuck Is This?

Also it downloaded already even though it isn't out yet so lol dunno.

But still.

I think people need to realise that the Switch doesn't represent an upgrade to them playing games in the same way that watching films on an iPhone isn't an upgrade on TV or cinema.

People are paying because its new to them. Not everyone bought Doom on the PS4 or Xbox One and not everyone bought a PS4 or Xbox One.

Many people are buying Doom for the first time and it's encouraging to publishers that these games are selling and at full price. It's a good look for Nintendo cos it means that third parties can be confident that when they bring more games, there's a market for them.

It just sucks for us, sure. So buy it when it drops in price.

Interesting bit of news from GDC:

Quote

A couple more tidbits revealed by Nintendo at their Nindies event at GDC show both great news for Nintendo's digital storefronts, as well as a promise to improve the eShop experience.

- digital sales of third-party games for Switch and 3DS are exceeding sales of its traditional "boxed" games in the US
- plan to upgrade the eShop's UI for "better discoverability"

That's a trend across all platforms isn't it?

Not to 'exceed' I don't think. Last time I heard, most people were putting it at about 20-30%, not over 50%....

Glad they are working on an eShop re-vamp as well - with the volume of stuff they have, it needs some work now. Always thought the Wii U eShop was good in that regard, but it was a lot slower as well....ying/yang

Rocket League father and son team is now officially called "MLG son & noobish father".

Love playing this game with my buy, who easily beat me 10-2 in 1v1 whilst laughing and trolling me. I'm not very good but we have begun playing competitively for the first time, just a couple of games every night and we will be getting our rank this week. He says it will probably be bronze 1 because of me, whilst he is Platinum something on the Xbox version :)

This is the game that made me love my Switch.

I mentioned to him that there are a couple of other father-son teams on the internet forums I visit, and he's well up for a game against you if interested. A couple of people here did post something the other week...any interest? (I'm assuming games can be set up, but not sure with the Switch's current online infreastructure)

Undertale coming to the Switch is actually quite important: it means GameMaker Studio now supports the platform.

http://www.disposablemedia.co.uk/2018/03/gamemaker-studio-2-to-launch-on-nintendo-switch/

Which, in turn, means games like Hyperlight Drifter, Cook Serve Delicious, Gunpoint, Death Ray Manta, Nidhogg, Hotline Miami, Downwell, Spelunky, Nuclear Throne, and so on may see releases on the Switch later.

And more, new, cross platform stuff of course.

Well that's two then.

Just got an email from Nintendo UK telling me that the Joycon right click ceasing to register as a button press isn’t covered under warranty and that they want £29 for the repair.

This is after not even trying to transfer my save data - including 90+ hours of Zelda - last year. I think it is at this point that they can go and fuck themselves. I’ll sell the piece of shit, regardless of how much I love Nintendo’s games.
