Is pro controller support coming at all tried the demo in tabletop mode as that's how I like to play but the pro did not seem to work.

Pro controller "should" work. It definitely does with the full game.

It's not about what it does. No amiibos are actually any good functionally are they?

I think the Shovel Knight one does something decent (co-op mode unlock?) but my Shovel Knight is on ps4 so never used it.  I think it's the only Amiibo that works in the box too.

I use the Switch pretty equally docked / undocked. If it was console only I'd have no interest.

In fact it's because I can play it undocked that makes me bothered to play it on the telly.

You can play the same games on your telly with a Pro Controller... Just a personal preference, I'd rather have a cheaper console as I have zero interest in the tablet. I own a Wii U and never used the tablet unless it was mandatory.

They made a 3DS without any 3D, it might happen. :P

I actually predominantly play my switch in docked mode find some of the text is just too hard to read (on some games) when playing on the small screen... plus I prefer to see the lovely shiny graphics on the big screen. Liked the idea of playing on a small screen if the main TV is being used but in reality never use it. Think I'd still rather have the option though makes it more portable.

Love to get a pro controller however bit reluctant to spend another £50-60 when I just bought the console and some games... starts getting  expensive very quickly....

And I am the exact opposite. I slouch about 12-feet from the telly, so text on the big screen is hard to read, whereas undocked is fine. I use it in handheld mode all the time the main screen is in use for some old shite (which is a lot). But I occasionally drop it in the dock for some time on that distant big screen. I never use it 'on the road' - but plenty do.

The fact that all three use methods are supported is why they've sold fucking millions.

Of course, if they released a beefed up version in due course, with more stable frame rates undocked, and possibly higher-res screen, I'd buy it in a heartbeat (as long as existing joycons and pro controllers worked on it).

I'd probably upgrade for something like 150 if it's just the tablet part ( as already have joycons and dock ) .

Yeah, I'd wait until you find out how easy it's going to be to transfer your account over...

Open question what was my driver for getting a switch?

I got one to play pretty much Mario and Zelda  :) Hardware wise not a huge fan of the joy cons and would have preferred a pro controller packed in rather than these! :)  But that I guess would be against the ethos of the system...

How is it an upgrade if its a quarter of the space?

All the original ones worked in the box. Later revisions and newer ones all had a bit of foil in the box blocking the tag.

I don't think it's out of the question, eventually, but not for a good while.

The hybrid nature of the Switch with multiplayer out of the box is what's differentiating it and imo the reason it's selling. It wouldn't offer 100% compatibility either, Labo for example.
