The Switch can use eight concurrent joy-cons via bluetooth. Based on that, I'm sure it could use two plus two bluetooth earbuds. No-one's going to want to use bluetooth earbuds in a multiplayer situation anyway.

The fact that plugging in a USB Bluetooth controller and using that works fine suggests that it's not that the 2.4Ghz spectrum becomes unbearably congested if you send audio too.

The thing is these companies have to make and test it in so many situations that while it may well work fine for a few but give them others issues much like the joy con themselves, that no one allows BT headsets speaks volumes for there being a significant technical reason for it not being offered.

I use AirPods so would welcome it working and equally couldn’t be arsed having something hangin off the switch to do so!

I think it’s due to the inherent lag of Bluetooth audio. If you watch a video on iOS, Mac OS, Windows etc. the video is delayed by a few frames to match up with the delayed Bluetooth audio. You can see this when starting a video as it takes longer to get going. With gaming it just wouldn’t work

It worked fine on the Vita.

I turned on switch last night and said a system update was available - I timed it and took 30 seconds to install and reboot console back to home page.

Had one other day on PS4 and it was about 10-15mins to get back to the same place - i actually got so bored waiting i never even used the PS4

Yes but the Switch update only has to fill 239mm x 102mm x 13.9mm, whereas the PS4 has to fill 275mm x 53mm x 305mm.

It's all relative.

Vita doesn’t have BT controllers unlike all the current machines that don’t offer BT headset support.

Although the Vita and Vita TV both allowed you to connect a PS4 controller to them, and still allowed for BT headset support.

The vita had a workaround that allowed you to use a PS4 pad for remote play on PS4 you mean?

Apple TV also allows BT headphones and game controller at the same time.

So does my iPad, not sure of the relevance - the only relevant point here is that all the actual current consoles don’t, it suggests that there is a technical reason it’s not supported and probably down to actual consoles having 4 or more pads potentially connected at the same time I assume.

Alright, when is this out?

I only just learned that Sanodg (of Tekken/Ridge soundtrack fame, the drunk guy above demoing this thing) is behind Detune who work with Korg on the DS range of synth workstations. Massive respect for this guy, his work was the soundtrack to my mid-late 90's.

I remember banging out reams of acid techno on the Korg DS while on the bus/bog and plugging it into the mixer when I had a house party in China. It was utterly forgettable music, all of it, but the pure daft fun of the experience has stayed with me. I'll be all over this, though I haven't hosted a house party in about a decade.

KORG thing looks amazing.

On the main site, there’s a load more videos where that awesome presenter is just jamming in multiplayer with three other blokes. Looks fantastic fun:

Like this one:

The bit where that rising tone kicks in at around 4:30 is especially brilliant.

I’ve never played a synth in my life, but I’m fucking having this.
