I'd kill for a Switch Donkey Konga. Are the glory days of the Wii back? The last time Nintendo filed a patent using the Donkey Konga bongos as an example, it turned out the patent was for fundamental technology for the Wii. But in this case it sounds like it's for Labo.
Quest
If these all turn out well and impressions are good, this year I'll probably end up buying the following: Taiko no Tatsujin / Kirby / Yoshi / Smash Bros. / Dark Souls / Hyrule Warriors / Tropical Freeze / Octopath Traveler / Sushi Striker / Mario Tennis / Xenoblade 2 story DLC / The World Ends With You / Captain Toad / Valkyria Chronicles 4 / Travis Strikes Again / Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion I already bought Dragon Quest Builders and Bayonetta 1/2. That's pretty good going for 2018, considering I haven't included 99% of the eShop stuff because there's too many upcoming games to deal with. Oh, and we haven't even had E3 yet, so I'm sure we'll get a load of surprises there. Allllllllso, I'm still dropping back in to most of the first party stuff from last year every now and then. Compared with the way I tend to play PS4 games, which is to churn through them and never return, I'd say I'm getting my money's worth. I'm not entirely sure why my play habits are so different on Switch, but they really, really are.

joe bazooka
Just found this report about Nintendo's last Christmas party from The Verge “You! You fill-a-me with booze!” Screams Tatsumi Kimishima, CEO of Nintendo. It's 7 hours into their Christmas party and everybody is drunk as fuck. Particularly Tatsumi. He's screaming at Reggie Fils-Aime. Reggie's surname is pronounced fills a me. Well, fee a me, but in his Japanese accent it's the same. Reggie is stuck to his chair with nails made of alcohol. He smiles. A big toothy grin. Earlier in the night, when Tatsumi first did the Fills-a-me thing, they'd all roared with laughter. He'd since said it, like, ten times. With a mighty effort Reggie turned his head. It fell backwards. He sort of flipped it forwards. “Shiggy dead,” he said. Shigeru Miyamoto was jammed and possibly dead between a sofa and an arm chair. Reggie waggled his head back to Tatsumi, opened his mouth and then closed it and then exhaled loudly. Tatsumi was stood, eyes tightly shut. Elbows at 45 degrees and fists clenched. He was dancing. One fist forward, then the other. “We go to club! Okay fatman?” said Tatsumi. Reggie squinched his nose up. They were the only motor skills he had left. “We get you kebab. Be okay.” Eiji Aonuma careened over from the dance floor at a lunatic angle. “What up, fuckers!” he said displaying trademark finger Vs on both hands. He then crashed onto a chair and picked up a glass from the table, sniffed its contents and downed it. “You come to club Greyhead yes?” asked Tatsumi. “Shigsy, not Shiggy,” said Reggie, to nobody in particular. “Yeah, I'll go to a club,” nodded Eiji, and Tatsumi returned to his rhythmic fist pumping. Eiji noticed Miyamoto's legs sticking in the air and stood and pushed the sofa sideways. Shigeru hit the floor and then crawled backwards, colliding with the table. “I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm okay,” he announced and climbed onto the sofa like he was scaling the Berlin Wall. Eiji pulled him so he was sitting upright. “You. Are. Fucked!” said Eiji and Miyamoto laughed in agreement. Eiji sat down. “Hey!” he shouted. He repeated his shout and leant forward, and found four drinks in amongst the empty glasses. He placed one in front of each of his colleagues. “Hey, toast!” He nodded at the drinks. “To Satoru!” The others grabbed a glass. Reggie at the third attempt. They lifted the glasses. “Satoru!” they shouted, not at all in unison. Reggie brought the glass down to his lap and spilt the drink all over his trousers. The other three downed their drinks. Judging by his reaction Shigeru had been given a horrible drink. He was licking the roof of his mouth. “What a fucking year, eh, lads!” said Tatsumi. Reggie was now snoring but Shigsy was getting a second wind. Seemed to be perking up. “I think we should do something. For the fans. The ones that stick with us through thick and thin. What you think they want?” “Pikmin!” Said Shigeru. “Why you always say Pikmin? That you're answer to everything. Bloody Pikmin. Nobody like Pikmin no more those fucking caves ruin it.” “I like Pikmin,” replied Shigeru, stung. “F-Zero” said Eiji. “That's what they want. It's what they deserve!” Eiji slammed his fist on the table and a glass fell over and they all laughed. “Okay. We make F-Zero. Start tomorrow. Remind me.” Said Tatsumi, and at the time he meant it. The next day they couldn't even remember what they'd done with Reggie.
iknowgungfu
After buying Splatoon 2 digitally and a few SNK titles I am completely coming around to digi only. Especially if I can get them for similar price as hard copies. Its only the same same as any PC game I own (although they are a damn site cheaper). Flub
I went digital only and despite it costing me more overall I'm happy. I do like the physical game boxes for the switch though. They're really nice.
Neyo
I was digital only on Wii u. When I get a switch I am not sure if I will be as I will want to share the games with my daughter's switches eventually. I used to love the one cart multiplayer on DS but I don't believe switch has it.
Marlowe
Do the Pro controllers ever drop below £55 anywhere?
iknowgungfu
I never found it anywhere cheaper. In the end I just formed our the cash. Was worth it think. I’ve only charged it once (not including the first time out of box) and have lost count of the hours the battery has lasted.

jonamok
I’d be tempted if I could get the Splatoon or Xenoblade one for £50-55. But they seem to be a fiver to a tenner more cos coloured plastic is so much more expensive. Despite all joycon colours costing the same.
milko
They’ve both been in that range at some point. I got the Xenoblade one (despite never playing any of those games yet) as the vanilla was still about £60 at the time. You’ve got to keep an eye out and move quick though, seems quite brief discounts and only on one site at a time rather than some big organised promo. Set an alert up on hotukdeals. El Spatula
I'm actually getting seriously tempted by a Switch now. Despite having next to no interest in Nintendos own games. Odd situation to be in. Do people think this third party renaissance will continue? I'm primarily a PC gamer but the simple format is tempting.
