I'd be surprised if the 360's were that low but I guess if you take out the numbers you'd normally get from the Japanese market that could make sense.

I wonder if those figures include RROD'd replacements too?

I seem to recall the 360 took a year or more to take off sales wise though. It was still slow sales at least until Oblivion came out out 6 months later.

Semantics.   Procedural almost always is based on 'random' input combined with some rules.   Not even almost.

This idea of playing down or denying the 'random' input is disingenuous at best.

Fair enough. I stand corrected

360 was held back by stock far more than Switch too

The 360 was supply constrained for a few months, but I doubt it was as bad as the Switch was. I think that people were waiting for the PS3 as well. Sony's fuck up didn't come until the 360 had already been out for 6 months. It didn't sell shit in Japan either.

Anyone got any strategy type game recommendations? I’ve played Mario Rabbids and loved it... just want something else a bit slow based and turn based.

I haven't played it, but Disgaea 5 might be worth a pop, and it has a free demo.

Disgaea 5 is the ne plus ultra of stat-pumping mechanic-crunching strategy games. It's layer upon layer of tactical turn-based combat and has an extraordinary level of depth and endgame content. It basically gives you the toolbox to rewire the rules of the game itself to tweak it to your liking, as part of the actual game. I started to get into it but was overwhelmed by a certain point. The only downside, perhaps, is the diabolical anime voice acting and the beyond-parody anime tits/clothing.

I looked at that but I just don’t think I can be arsed. Too much depth, I think I’d drown.

Absolutely. Same here. I just wasn't sure what level of number crunching turn planning you were into. I'd recommend downloading the demo, mind you. From memory, it had so much content, I literally wasted fifty quid on the full game.

Tiny Metal?

It's not perfect, but it's decent enough. 7 puppies out of a litter and all that.

I'd guess it's the joycons (and maybe the docks, like the Japanese only Monster Hunter one) that are where their special edition efforts will be this generation, not the console itself.

Steamworld heist is what you're after. It's basically a 2D version of Xcom, really breezy short missions, pick up and play kind of game.
