Does anyone have one of these (or similar)

Quite fancy playing switch lying down in bed with detached joycons. With this I’d attach to the headboard and stare up at it whilst lying in bed. The dream.

Your last post on this subject inspired me to buy the one you linked to back then. It's a fantastic (if vegetative) way to play.

Gekido is ok. A lovely looking (at the time of the GBA) scrolling fighter with an adventure game structure - go here and fetch this to come back and unlock a door etc.  It's really annoying at times though, with especially irritating pit traps that open up right under your feet as you walk along.

One of those adjustable tablet holder jobbies looks perfect for nest based Skyrim sessions!

Played some XC2 at lunch today, using the kickstand and detached joycons. Pro-tip - use XC2’s easily-missed cruise control feature to play games and eat quiche and beans simultaneously. What a time to be alive.

Anyway, the kickstand. Is it just me, or does everyone else feel like they’re going to a) stick their thumbnail right through that rubber bit and b) just accidentally snap it off when it does eventually open? Seems like the least well designed bit of the switch.

I think I’ll bring my Hori mini-stand in to work just to avoid having to use it. Got it from CEX in exchange for trader trash, and it’s kind of going spare at home.

I’ve pulled the kickstand off a couple of times by accident already but it does goe back on quite easily, I’ve got a Hori stand now for screen playing at work so hopefully won’t be a problem anymore.

Can anyone please answer the following?

1 - Has anyone used one of the official wired controllers on switch? Am I right in thinking I cant use one in desktop mode?

2 - Anyone played the one piece unlimited game? Is it any good?

I used the kickstand once, then decided it was crap, and ordered one of those Lamicall alloy shaped things from Amazon.  It's really nice, well made, and the adjustable hinge is handy too.

Quite fancy quiche and beans now...

There aren't any official wired controllers.

"Hi I'm Nintendo guy, you're stuck with me"

It deserved all the accolades though, didn't it?  Zelda, I mean.  What a wonderful thing.

@smithstock didn't like it, but he also didn't like Persona 4, so that means his opinion is invalid...and this just strengthens it.

Ha! With Zelda, it’s complicated...

The exposition is the worst in the entire franchise, outside of Majora’s Mask - which is only 20 minutes long, it still has the “what was I doing again?” issue when you return to the game after a break and I’m not a fan of the weapon degradation.

Other than those, I actually am quite enjoying it. I’m about 20 hours in, most of the map is displayed and I’ve just hit Gerudo. I’ll get back into it again when I get some time.

Persona 4 though, is lost on me.

So, a recent Tweet from Blizzard is (according to resetera) supposedly teasing Diablo 3 for the Switch. It’s a gif of an employee switching on and off a devilish night-light.

Fingers crossed that’s the correct interpretation.

The Hori wired controller is licensed by Nintendo though, that could be what he's asking.

@sandman by desktop mode you mean away from the dock? If so then you can't, the wired controllers use usb slots on the dock itself.

You can buy a cheap USB to USB-C adapter and connect wired controllers to the Switch when it’s not in the dock.

You can also buy a mini USB hub and connect a keyboard and controller at the same time.

Diablo III is a perfect fit for the Switch. It's another game that I struggle to want to play on the big screen in the living room, but one I can play on the go, or whilst the TV is being watched.

I'm pleased with the (probable) Diablo announcement. I've never actually played a Diablo game properly. I always meant to pick up Reaper of Souls on the PS4 but never got round to it, and the Switch seems a perfect fit for it. I just hope they don't put it up full price, seeing as the PS4 version is pretty heavily discounted.

I'm guessing it'll be a full price "for main game plus all expansions" job. They are Activision Blizzard these days, after all.

A problem with wired controllers is they don't do gyro or rumble. Maybe you don't mind, but it is something to be aware of.

If you just can't stomach paying out top dollar for a Pro controller, you could have a look at the 8bitdo. It is wireless, has gyro and rumble and is a good bit cheaper. It is a little small though.

Didn't know that. Cheers, just saved me buying one as a backup.
